What did you engrave the QR code with and on? It came out very sharp and crisp and the metal was bright underneath.

I engraved on an anodized aluminum card with a fiber laser. The right settings with the fiber laser can get a very nice white on the aluminum.

iPhones won’t read NFC chips?

Unless they changed something within the last year they cannot read these type of chips! I am not sure why they create that restriction.
