Need a purple one for a color party. Never thought of using something to hold the elastic while I tie the tulle. I also never thought about tying 2 pieces together that would definitely make it more full.

I was going to make one for my daughter and add cow print ribbon to it. Would I do the ribbon the same way as the Tulle? (I'm going to tie it, not sew it to the tulle) if that makes sense. Thanks so much! I love this

The blue is dark turquoise and the lighter purple is lavender and I got them from Michaels. The darker purple is also called lavender and I got that one from Hobby Lobby.

Great video. Question about the object you use to assist putting the tutu together. In this video you used a vinegar container. I'm doing one for my 3.5 yr old and I am not sure what object.i should use to assist me. Any help here would be great!
When you wrap it 28 times around the cardboard, do you mean each side counts as one time around? I did 28 complete wraps and it looks way bigger than yours and it used most of the 25 yard roll. Tha k you.
For this tutu, I used 84 strips in total. I used 3 colors, so I used 28 strips of each color. You can wrap the 28 in one go or do a few at a time, your preference. How many strips you use will depend on the waist size. You can always cut more or less, depending on the fullness you want.
Hello Dovie my name is Vickie, I'm making a tutu for my great niece she is a little chucky in size. I measure her waist at 19 inches I know the rule of tumble is subtract 2 inches .But would I still use the same amount of strips of tulle as you did, she is gonna be 1 years old in a few weeks.
Of course you can! Just measure your waist for the elastic and length of your strips will depend on the length you want to make it. Also, how many rolls of tulle you need will depend on size of skirt.

I have an 8 year old niece that needs a tutu. Do you have the measurements for that size? I checked out the link and it stops at 5t. I really loved you tutu💖
I recommend measuring her waist and deduct about 1-2" from that measurement for the elastic. Whatever would be most comfortable to her. As for the length, measure from waist to where you want it to hit on her leg, double that measurement and add an inch or two for the knotting around the elastic. You can always cut the tulle length after its completed if it is too long, but you can't add material back if it is too short.
