This was super helpful. More tips for resizing images: Copy the size that you like and then right click in the copied image and select replace image. The new image will be sized correctly.
So helpful. I was even able to create word labels (saved them as JPGs from tiny slides) to drag to a motherboard for my high school students to help them review the parts of the motherboard. Very cool.

will the images still be re-sizable by the students, when they view the worksheet? And will they have all of the editing menus around the outside? Or will they just have the sheet it's self, and the images are movable, but the little blue boxes around the outside of the image do not show up?

I don't have google classroom, but I have tried to make a sorting activity before using google slides and then sharing the link with students. But I ran into the issue that kids will double click on what they want to move and either make it disappear or resize the picture they are moving. Do you have any advice how to work around this?
I'm trying to learn how to take the powerpoint(which already has click and drag elements) and have students be able to manipulate it while I watch. Its for an assessment so I have to be able to view but I want them to have control of the choice making/clicking and dragging. I've looked up Jamboard and Nearpod but no luck.

For some reason, my students cannot drag and drop. I saved the background as png, uploaded it to new google slides, and added my "Drag and drop" letters... then I uploaded that same google slides file to google classroom, any suggestions?
My version of ppt. doesn't let me do your PNG without exporting. When I do open a new presentation to insert the slide as the background, it keeps moving. What am I doing wrong?

This may sound dumb... so once they’ve sorted they just hit share and it’ll share back to me? Could I grade it if I wanted to? Can’t they go back in and move stuff around after they’ve turned it in though?
Ashley Shelton it depends on how you assign it. If you use google classroom and they turn it in there, they cannot make any changes after they submit it. You grade it and return it. If they just share it back with you then they can make any changes that they want. You could always check the version history to see if changes were made after it was submitted. Great video. How could I make the instructions with sound. Some of my students can't read independently. How can I add a sound bite to explain the directions? We are using Google Classroom in our district.
If I want the students to only drag and drop not accidentally resize the items (which, in your case were an octopus and an umbrella), is there a way to make them a fixed size?
Hi, I made one of these for a rounding activity. I used shapes with numbers typed in for students to drag down to the correct spot on the grid. How do I lick the shape so they can drag it but they cannot edit it? Thanks for all you do!

Is there a way to restrict student's access to resize the objects, I find that when they're dragging the items they often end up changing the image and it can be frustrating for them.
I think you have to download the format without the clipart. Save it as PDF. Go back to where you have saved it and copy and past on to the slide. That way the text boxes stay put. Now add clip art . The students then will be able to only drag and drop the clip art images.
