If you want to create a map with lines between origins and destinations, you can do this in QGIS from a simple csv text file, so long as you have latitude and longitude data for each feature in separate columns.
If you want to follow along yourself, here's the file:
automaticknowl...
In this example I demonstrate a workflow where we start with a csv of all players and the manager of Manchester City FC for the 2023 UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul.
If everything disappears when you apply the geometry generator below, just zoom out so that you can see the entire world and it then you should see the flow lines.
The flow lines are created by using a geometry generator style in QGIS, as shown below. You'll see in the video how to edit this to make the lines to to a different destination. Like I say in the video, adding new lines or spaces doesn't mess anything up and I do this to make it easier to read - otherwise it can all get a bit confusing!
densify_by_count( make_line(
make_point( "Place of birth X" , "Place of birth Y" ),
make_point( "EtihadX" , "EtihadY" )
),100)
Try it yourself and see how you get on!
