Insane! I dabble w/ different arts, and although I don’t need concrete, I do need a lighter product for my pieces. I’ve been hesitant to use foam, but now I’m going to give it a try!! Binging all videos now. 😊
brilliant! i'm about to do this on my 1st foam diorama; was going to use joint compound for streets, then paint & weather. then wondered if i could just faux concrete right on the foam. and now i know i can! thanks guy
I liked your choice of colors to simulate the concrete finish. I used a different color pallet in my last video. Well done. I just subscribed to your channel. Cheers!
Fantastic job dude!! I used to be a scenic artist in movies and TV. We did exactly the same type of technique. Awesome!! Quick note: on city sidewalks there are always big black spots of old chewing gum, garbage etc.. Depending on the scene, you can get a lot of realistic details by simply looking at an actual sidewalk. Great man!
Thank you so much!! And scenic painting is such a cool profession, I love watching bts of how scenic painters bring sets to life! And those are some great tips! I’ll keep those in mind for next time
Just fount this video! Great, concise, clear tutorial...thank you for the lesson! One question...where did you purchase the super thin XPS? It's almost as hard to find as unicorn teeth.
Thank you! And I’m glad you like the video! Unfortunately, I don’t know where to buy sheets of thin foam. I only have 1-2” thick pieces where I’m from. I just cut the thickness down with my proxxon hot wire table. You could try looking at eBay, I’ve heard that some people sell thinner sheets that they cut down themselves! Not too sure about how clean and accurate they are though
I'm wanting to build small scale houses, as real as possible, complete with teeny pvc pipes in walls, tiny coated wire thru walls, real pieces of carpet on floors. then scale it up using "1 by " lumber🤔
all this is missing is old gum stuck all over and cigarette buds squished in-between the cracks edit: just saw you actually did add the black speckles like gum lol
