In this video, I show how to get any vehicle to produce flames out of the exhaust without needing a pricey tune. Enjoy a rundown process on how I installed the Hotlicks Flame Kit on my 03 G35 Coupe.
In the 90s we used to do this with a spark plug a toggle switch and a coil pack and it would piss the police right off. I never thought I'd see a kit for sale.
Hai . Your work is so good . Actually iam from India. Could you help me on doing this to my car . Bcoz my is very old and I have diesel engine on that . Pls guide me
It’s best if you have a cat delete. According to Hot Licks they state that it won’t work with catalytic converters. Mufflers and resonators can stay on the car.
Yo, i have a 350z de. So its same engine as yours. I also have the flame kit and have had it for 3 years now now lol But where the hell do i wire into the coil/ignite system. I csnt tell what wires from your video!?
I don’t believe this will cause any damage to the engine, however it can cause a check engine light since you are essentially causing a maul function in order to produce the flames and the computer will pick it up. However it won’t be an issue when you’re not using it and the check engine light can be cleared up easily.
The car has absolutely no tune, it’s because of the kit that it pops sometimes when shooting flames, the video doesn’t do it justice but it pops pretty loud.
I have this kit but how you get that loud explosion I know for sure it is the way you click the bottom and the rpm please make a video on how you click it to get that loud explosion
It tends to happen as the engine rpm’s approach idle, it seems like there could be other factors involved. I recently changed my exhaust set up (got rid of the muffler delete and installed an OEM muffler) I’ll test to see if it will still pop/backfire.
What is the best flamethrower kit? I saw on youtube shorts hot lick flamethrower kit but I also saw the AutoLoc Flamethrower kit. I don't know which one to buy. Can anybody help? Edit: the flames on hot licks dont look bit unlike on the AutoLoc.
@@fitosanitago6574 you just have to make sure the ignition signal is cut off by pressing the button so you would have to cut into the wire for the specific fuse, don’t believe it will work if you go directly into the fuse itself
It’s works with mufflers and resonators, basically any set up can shoot flames, just gotta make sure you don’t have cats for it to work, if you use it with cats it will basically melt and blow out your cats catalyst metals.
@@angellopez0101 why so? the position of the kit to the cat seem to really far away, how can the pop at the back at the car affect something at the middle (cat)
Destroying your original wiring 😢 If it has a plug and play like 2step it would be nice. Yeah its better then do it with late ignition timing that destroyes your engine in time but i wouldnt wanna destroy my wiring for that
“You could get shocked it’ll hurt but it’s nothing crazy” 20,000v at 3-5amps 💀 💀💀 you should be able to hear the spark plug going off or use a voltmeter instead of testing like that if you enjoy living
It's helpful sure but every time the person gets to the ignition wire it's this wire or that wire the yellow with two on one side and y'all lose me what wire are y'all actually taping into
@@nicost9345what you need is to cut off ignition(spark) that way fuel can pass by unburnt and ultimately come out to the tail pipe to be ignited by the spark plug in the exhaust tailpipe.
You still have your cat or mufflers ? My mustang have no cat, but I have 2 Roush mufflers, one per side. You think that will work ? Or I have to remove the mufflers ?
I have an 08 g, and i have it routed and ready to go on the car i just need to know which wires to cut and connect in that assortment of wires in a more in depth detail please 10:57
Yes it’s a bit difficult being that there are quite a few identical wires. It’s gonna be a white wire with a light blue stripe (which there are multiple of). The way you can likely find it is by following that single blue wire that runs through that stretch of the harness on its own as shown. If you follow it past the bolt that holds the harness with the zip tie you should notice that there is another identical white and light blue wire right next to it. Your gonna have to follow that wire back towards the bundles of wires and you’ll see that it goes into a bundle along with two other wires and they will be wrapped in the yellow and blue tape. That will be the wire that you cut. You will notice the other two wires seem the go missing when you look for the past the zip tie bolt as they wrap towards the side of the harness away from the plenum, the correct wire will be found running through the harness on the side closer to the plenum, again it will be next to the previously mention identical wire that will be running through the harness by itself without joining into the tape bundles. (This should make more sense if you read it while having your harness opened up so you can view all the wires I speak of, keep in mind the harness in the video is from a VQ35DE, it may possibly be different being that 08 G’a have a different engine.
@@connorpfahl7525 one side is from the power and the other carries it to the rest of the ignition coils. The purpose is to stop the sparks in the engines so that unburnt fuel can travel out the exhaust and be ignited by the spark plugs from the kit.
Everything sounded good until u got under the hood. Cut that wire that has the wire goin that way, cut that wire goin this way, cut the one on that side...I don't know which wire to cut
You can do it both ways depending on your situation, if you’re driving slower you’d want to rev up without accelerating too much so in that case I would go to neutral to rev up.
I installed this, and spark plugs are sparking when on , when I push the button the car attempts to die but when I let go off the button and give it gas it goes back to normal (which is normal according to the instructions) however no flames are coming out. Is it possible that I wired the wrong white/blue wire (vq35de)? Because it’s doing exactly what the instructions states
Try holding the button till he car dies, if it doesn’t die there’s a chance you are only disabling some of the sparks, so not a lot of fuel is making it out which won’t create flames
It will basically over heat and blow out your cats but ultimately it will shoot flames. Cats are expensive I’d say it’s worth removing them as that’s how this kit is intended to be used.
You can be in park or neutral while sitting still, I suggest park so the car won’t roll if the surface is not level. You can also produce flames while driving, simply press the button while you’re driving and hold the gas pedal as needed, just make sure to let go in time for the car not to stall.
$200 kit and you can do it for 50. 🤔.. .. cutting spark. Wire and toggle switch. Wire and spark plug, connecting to ign coil and that's it. Am I missing something.
It doesn’t normally pop, but usually you can get it to pop when the rpm’s are dropping close to idle, I assume it’s because more oxygen can rush in to the exhaust and react with the fuel and spark quickly.
what this still work if i still have my cats rn my cars straight pipes with cats but the car still pops/ crackles not to loud but it does so do you think having cats in my situation would it make a difference?
should i just gut my cats then bc for my car they don’t make test pipes or anything of that so it’s either i gut them or find a shop that can cut them and just put pipe
