Tempo is not everything! But usually, The West Coast has a 115-90 BPM range because we like to bounce. ATL has a 120-145 BPM range which is moderate, perfect for the trap sound. While the midwest Detroit sound is gonna be a Lil faster like 150-190 BPM. Although, you can make a Detroit beat with a 97 BPM. It just has to be programmed in a way that makes it feel consistent and nonstop. That's when your hats come in because hats are the energy of the song.

This is the exact information I was looking for. I needed the explanation of the bass tracks and melodies. I have yet to download in vsts because I am learning to make them from scratch in Harmor/Harmless. I am doing this to learn from the basics and when I get to the next stage with my understanding of building TYPE BEATS I will download VSTS specifically for the Instruments that I am going for within each genre. Helluva is a legend, however the sound has been around in The Bay since early 90's. Talkin E-40 & Too Short. Somewhere early on there was a split. We play the acid bass funky on the West. 💯

I’m so confused please help. You say use the half notes between the root but wouldn’t the half note be the black key which you didn’t use but I’m confused as hell. So to recap 1. Bpm range half time 95-110, or 180-200 double time 2. In half time for bass, out of four counts place 1 count skip two counts and place again 3. I missed it for which notes 4 . Piano- roots and all half steps in scale 5. Bass notes within the melody 6. Other chords- safe to stay within half steps and roots but not required 7.accents on some chords 8. 808 use the same as bass pattern but add a little 9. Rim, highhat, clap, refer to end of video pattern
