The most time consuming and difficult build of my young life, the zombie bite gauntlets. Made of 22 and 16 gauge steel, roofing nails, rivets and leather. My patreon page: / nonlethalbychoice
I have only watched a few of your videos, but man! You are one smart kid! I gotta hand it to you. You demonstrate a remarkable spirit of intelligence, ingenuity, and reason that really is inspiring and admirable. Great job! Keep it up.
I love how you don't print out the templates and you make your videos fun to watch an inspire other people like me. I have been creating armor and weapons for a while and if I had templates to follow I never would be as good at building as I am now. It makes you think and find your own tricks to do things and make them cool.
That little end speech you did was really cool. I mean, it's true, too. You definitely are your best hardworking self. Jeez, I want this gauntlet! I would totally make it if I had these tools and resources. You are a weapon genius.
I see him making DIY helicopters and homemade tanks, as seen in the comment I made in " I'm not dead I just look like it" 😳 realization that we have similar minds.
I've always wanted to do something like the stuff you do but never went through with it but now that you have posted these tutorials I can start. Thank you
This is honestly very epic, it inspired me to start working on some of my own gauntlets. I've been watching your vids for the longest time and I've gotten so inspired over the years to just make weapons and such out of random stuff I find. Thanks a lot
amazing build, way to go on barreling through with little sleep, being creative is sometimes bad for the health but we have to pull through to make kick ass projects like this. great job!
Yo Thank You so much for the ending u helped me so hard in school cuz im an addicted gamer now i put my maximum on school and now i have better grades. thanks again
Suggesting that you can use these for hema is dangeorus. A sword would just break your hand because there is pretty much no padding. Hits on the hand allways hurt, even with proper hema gloves.
Nonlethalbychoice I appreciate the encouraging words as well, and I say, I thank you for the videos, regardless of how long it is in between each one! Quality over quantity, I believe you've said yourself.
I'm actually making my own crusader themed plated armor set. I'm grabbing ideas from you and a few other places here and there. thanks for providing the videos.
Dude.... Wise words. I always struggle to get mvp in games, but now, I'll always strive to win the game, and help the team better. I'll play tank from now on. And protect the team when they need help
Probably one of the coolest things you have ever built. Just a recommendation, maybe you could put some type of spike on the fist or something so if your weapon gets stuck in a zombie or something you could kill them with your fist:)
Oh my. That looks like a diamond brand hammer. "You could not wish for a better blade." On a side note, the welding clamp pliers are actually referred to as "seamers" in the sheet metal industry
After years of accepting im different to everyone else around me because i do what i do for creativity.. i finally see a person who does what i do... doesnt have to be perfect, just has to be something.
Hey man, had an idea for your gauntlet there. That plate that you have bolted to the plate on the back of your hand to cover the gap between the fingers and the hand, if you extended it out a little more and instead of making it flat had a point at the end, not only you would have a protective plate (like you have now) but you would also have basically a built in knife. Just make a fist and punch.
Impressive... I like your dedication to this channel, I can see how hard you have been working on all of your videos. You are a Genius.... How you come up with these awesome ideas, I very much enjoy your videos Nonlethalbychoice!
I have seen some of your videos lately, and some kinda older videos in the past. and I just wan to say that me personally I love to build stuff, not necessarily weapons, armors and that kinda of stuff. Nut just by watching and hearing your recomendation I can tell you have a ton of experience with "small" mechanical issues, flaws and dessign. particularly speaking about the rivets. many people wouldn´t consider the mobility part until after messing up the first time. keep it up man.
I enjoyed the advice as the video ended; almost like an old school episode of GI Joe when they'd do the life lesson before the show was over. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
I love your videos very much. All of your armor is amazing and I really appreciate your effort to not curse. I just wish you'd post your templates because it would make my knight armor build a hella lot easier but hey, other than that amazing channel
I just wanted to point out that you can make lose pop rivet joints: Take a strip of steel of a gauge determined by how lose you want the rivet, drill a hole the size of the rivet you are using in the center of it then cut it in half through the hole. Put the two halves around the shank before installing it then just wrench them out after you install the rivet to add a little wiggle room. :-)
Nice, I love the flexibility on this one. My only gripe is the that plates don't seem to provide much protection to the sides of the hand, but I suppose that's the trade-off for good articulation. Perhaps there's a way you could add additional plates that curl from the back of the hand over the sides a bit without hindering thumb and hand mobility too much?
Pretty interesting to see how my views have developed 3 years later. I kinda wanted templates cause I was pretty unconfident about my building skills; but as I am now, I'd rather put my own twists on the things Eli has inspired me to make~!
Those homemade rivets are great, probably the most historically accurate thing (I know you're not going for historical accuracy i just think it's cool) That's a process called peening and it used to be how they kept the grip of a sword attached to the blade, among other things.
Zednought, i recently (and i mean really recently) found your videos through a crazyrussianhacker survival weapons video, and i really wanted to say that these videos you make are some of the coolest How To videos I've watched in a long time. you've got my subscription and i cant wait to see where you go from here with your already well established channel.
ZednoughtAlpha yea i found it through the related videos when i was watching a crazy russian hacker video. i figured id give this a try, safe to say im hooked.
To set your home made rivets you could crush them in the vice rather than hammering. That would be much more accurate and less chance for mucking it up.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't really work with steel, or rather any other "functional" materials; I use materials way easy to get and work with, like cardboard. Either way, due to the creativity NLBC applies in his videos is very easy for me to come up with new ideas to experiment with. Some times is better to leave those gaps for others to fill. :)
I admire your ideology. I’m trying to make a gauntlet for the first time and I gotta say I’m having a hard time figuring out how to spread the design on a flat sheet of paper or metal. because the parts contain both geometric and curvy surface. Idk tho I’ll try to figure it out somehow. Maybe study some paper craft principles or other related stuff
I respect your choice not to give templates. I went and bought David Guyton's for a guide to make my own though. BTW Your finger design is really good, Cleared up questions that I had with David's version.
Nonlethalbychoice would it be possible to spike the portions that overlap the knuckles to make punching sligtly more dangerous for the target or recipient of the strike?
