Conch fritters are a very popular snack in Belize and my personal favorite snack. I love love conch fritters or anything that has to do with conch. If I could eat this every day I would.
I really appreciate you bringing all our Belizean recipes to life on your channel! We all have our family versions of the dishes... yours are the closest to the way my family made them back in the day! Love it!
Okay, well I'm from Punta Gorda. I always cook my Belizean food here in the US. I like that I can find a lot of the ingredients we use back home here in Texas.

I tried these when my ex's mom would make them. I absolutely loved them! I have been craving them since but I didn't know what they were called or how to make them, and I wasn't gonna contact my ex's mom for this 😅 so glad I found this video!!

Yes these couch fritters are perfect just the way I like them , I grew up on couch fritters in Miami , I love to this day I'm 71 , I'm away from Home now but I still crave them , the size you made them is the way I like it to be , I will search around to see if any one carry couch , then I will make my own , your video shows me just how to cook them thank you so much.
You are so welcome! Aww, thank you so much as well. I appreciate that. Conch is very hard to find where I live. Hope you find some where you are so you can make some fritters. Enjoy 😊❤
Angelica I’m from Miami also and just returned 2 weeks ago. A 5 lb box is $80 but I bit the bullet and bought 2 boxes. I cut it up and bagged and froze the it was easier to bring back on the plane. I live in Colorado Spgs but I have enough to last until I get home again at the end of the year. Conch fritters are on the menu today.
@@anr5458 It’s so expensive I bought 10 lbs when I was there last month to bring back to ColoradoSprings with me . $80 a box the hurricanes are decimating the conch beds.
I love conch fritters. I like it spicy and not too greasy. I can say I’ve had it as a snack, for breakfast, lunch and dinner before. Wish conchs was easier to find and more affordable. Last time I had it we payed a pretty penny for a couple pounds. So enjoyed it to the very last in some ceviche and fritters. Yours look delish.
Cooking with Shirani I ordered it online (that’s how desperate we were for some conchs 😆) so you can imagine it was quite pricey , from Giovanni’s Fish Market.
OMG!!! When people are desperate they do desperate things 😁. I don't even want to think about the price 😟😀. I bet it was worth it though, that's all that matters 😍.
Thankyou for the recipe Shirani as always it’s highly appreciated, not everyone can make good fritters and yours look amazing 😃 I cannot wait to try it... Greetings to you and your family 💕
Aww, you are so welcome Earlene!Thank you so much as well. That means a lot to me ❤. Hope you are staying safe. Sending love to you and your family 😊💕.
you're geting the splatter of grease because you are using a frying pan. Use a large 3 or 4 qt pot where it can float when it is done and you will have great conch fritters with no splatter of grease to clean up.
Looks real good, but first ingredient in sarzon seasoning is MSG. Morton salt contains modified food starch. Both not too good for you. I will stick to natural seasonings from my spice shop.
Love conxs flittaz....I'll have to try this....aaayy to translate that English tho....kinda hard to do some times but a lot of my vewers are English....
Have you ever tried using cornmeal and less water? I’m thinking since I use cornmeal on fish and seafood it would taste really delicious. Using equal parts of flour and cornmeal or just cornmeal.
@@CookingwithShirani lol exactly. Yo notice how a spell it how wi pronouns it "flitters" lol. I made some tonight and it came out great. Thanks for your videos. Every time i go search something on RU-vid your videos come up. I made the ice cream but it didn't came out how i wanted. Didn't have the correct cream.
You are very welcome Eddison. Yes I notice the spelling lol. We mess up di name a things all di time lol. I'm sorry to hear your ice cream didn't come out good. Im not sure what you would use in Belize. Maybe ask around and see what other people use.
@@CookingwithShirani lol yes we do mess up lot of names. I had to use media crema since nowhere have the whipping cream due to this pandemic. Eh had the flavor and everything just neva had the texture. Yo have to du wa lee conch soup too. A mek wa lee soup today and mi the search your page fi one. Never the less mines mi still come out rich.
Well hopefully next time you could find whipping cream. Yes I can definitely do conchs soup. I love conchs soup. I bet your one mi nice especially with dem fresh conchs.
Hello Shirani. Do you know the recipe for conch salad ? I can’t wait to make some fritters it’s so hard getting conch in Michigan . I grew up in Miami and had fritters everyday as Child😊
Omg! You were one lucky child to have conch fritters everyday 🤗. If you can't find conchs you could also use shrimp. I know it's not the same but it's still good. I'm not sure which conchs salad you are asking about, you mean like conchs ceviche?
On behalf of bahamians and carribean people every where.... this is not a conch fritter this is a pancake or whatever that it but a conch fritter issa noooooooo! Stop take it down!
It's okay if you don't like to see or eat the conchs fritters!! Not everyone has good taste!! Unless your name is google please stop acting like you know everything!! Peace out!!
@@tamarawilliams9389 thank you...hate non belizean people thinking that all Caribbean dishes or cusines has to be made the same as the others.. that's what make every Caribbean country stand out from others...
