There were a few people asking in my last vlog whether I got a new camera, I did! Still testing out how to make the most of it 😂 I also got to try out my new sewing accessory, the pincushion wristband! I'm probably way too excited about this!
That two patterns on one piece folding technique kind of blows my mind. You are so clever! Might try that out on one of my tee shirt patterns. Thanks for the great idea!
im reworking a garment right now and knew i wanted this look on it but didn't know how to call it... resorted to looking it up as withwendy sleeves because i knew i'd seen you wear this type of thing! and it worked ! thank you.
The idea having the tight sleeve under the bell is so smart! I personally prefer the look of trumpet sleeves, so I will definitely check out the video you mentioned at the end.
Great video as always!! If I may add a few tips for other beginners. Instead of pulling the neck hole into the collar to pin/attach it, you can try flipping the shirt inside out and laying the collar inside the shirt with the raw edges both facing up. Next you add four anchor pins (north/south/east/west) on the collar and the neck hole separately, match those up and then you only have to eyeball the last few in between. Also, if your new to sewing with stretch fabrics, don't be afraid to adjust your stitches and play with both zigzag and straight. I've even used basting stitches to tack the slippery fabric evenly together and then came back over it with a regular smaller straight stitch. You'll know when you get it right, so have fun and think outside the box!
can you please make a jumpsuit with long wide legs? I really want to see how you would make one because i can't find a cheap and pretty one to buy so i want to try to make one myself.
I love this. Im actually working on a duster I hope to have finished for an event on Saturday; it will now have bell sleeves. I usually hate doing pleats but your way is so Easy.
Oh my gosh.. I LOVE this! I recently became a lot more active in sewing again and I have been looking for little things that would fit my style to try out. I want to do this thanks for the great idea!
Oh my goodnessssssssssssssssssssss I love the bell sleeve. I have got to borrow that. I just love your video, so clear, easy precise, and informative. Much love Wendy.
heycindeee Every sewing tutorial she makes im just staring at her perfect nails 😍 Wendy you need to make a video of how you style your nails and what products you use! ❤️
All those patterns sewn in nicely feels so satisfying. Great video, Wendy! I always love it how you're always very clear in the every instructions, especially instructions to the small details. And for a moment I thought that cool pincushion wristband was an Apple Watch 😂 Excited to see more of what you have in store for us. 🤗
hey Wendy, do you think you could make a button up skirt? if been trying to make one and I just really want to do it with out a pattern but its somewhat more complicated then a normal skirt! So as I really really love your videos and they helped me so much in learning to sew your help would be wonderful! Thanks a lot for all your tutorials and everything!! Anna
If I'm not mistaken, you were attaching the neck over right side of sweater. It's a bit harder process to do, but if turn the sweater inside out - the neck piece can be placed inside the sweater to line up. It's a lot easier this way. The only down side of this method - the neck piece will not be stratched out while pinning.
Hi Wendy i love you and your videos! I plan to buy a sewing machine cheaper side but i don't know what features i should be looking for or which brands, can you please share your tips from here or in a video? Love from Turkey!! ❤️
Wendy, thank you so much for what you are doing, you have helped me to start sewing my dreams now, and it's addicting :D I know you probably don't take any request, but i can't help trying anyways - i just saw this awesome and different take on a cool hoodie, that i wondered if would fall in to your taste - you do have such great taste and vision for clothing - and here is me naively hoping that you might do it one day, so i can sew one myself - i don't have any where near the skill set to copy clothing from picture, but you do :) And if not, it would be awesome if you could give some advice on how to get starting in copying/sewing clothes from pictures. All of this sounds maybe a little weird, i just really admire your talent and skills. Again, thank you so much for all of your truly inspiring videos! Much love from Denmark!
hey Wendy! Could you please make a video about how to downsize jackets and blazers? Cause i lost a few kilos but dont wanna throw those things away, since they were also not THAT cheap. Thanks and greatings from Germany ^^
I like your pattern making tips - folding trick. I REALLY WISH you would slow your videos down a little. it's hard to catch everything without repeated rewinding. Love your videos. You are very creative.
since it doesn't fray will it do that thing where the raw fabric edge starts curling? also just out of curiosity how come you didn't surge the raw edge and then finish it off? love your vids and channel wendy!
i have a question!! what do you do after your finished with a project? i mean, the remaining patterns that you've drawn, do you throw them away? or do you put them in a folder with a label like " wrap dress pattern" etc?
see WithWendy notification-must see it!-click thumbs up before it start-then i'm realize i had morning class today😂 (it's 8.00 AM in Indonesia today😂😂)
+Nt yeah! I have one that is slightly out of date, but still covers the important bits! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nRY0xqeBugE.html
Love this, and your channel! Very interesting that you sourced your fabric from The Fabric Store, which is a New Zealand company. (Fellow Kiwi's represent!) Is it okay if I ask, was this an endorsement or did you choose them independently? I buy from them locally (in Wellington) and I would like to know your opinion. Thanks and thanks for your amazing tutorials!
Of course it is okay to ask! The company had asked me if I would be interested in trying out some of their fabric and I really liked their prints, so I picked some that were sent to me for free. I've always been a bit skeptic with online fabric shopping, but the samples I got from thefabricstore were great quality, prints were nice and clear, no complaints! I wish I was able to shop in person!
