gotta say, i was totally impressed with the craftsmanship, design, and technique. that is until he ruined the whole thing by painting it. even if while the paint was still fresh wet, took a hose to it and washed most off just so there was, well, a washed look so the character of the cement and the burnishing from the sanding. that patina tells a lot about how it was made. that thin coat of slip, or the thin watery cement, he used coated the pot in a dense shell, kind of like venetian plaster. it attests to the amount of time that went into making it. akin to an aged patina. more like craftsmanship patina. i think of fine carpentry. bold analogy, after all it's a bonsai pot. one with surprisingly thick walls i might add. how much did that thing weigh? not the ideal pot for root over rock compositions that's for sure. but yea, don't cover up the fruits of your labor. the pot's top notch. just blackface isn't a good look for anyone, or anything. lol.
@@darso_op I didn't mean to say the paint ruined the whole thing. Just the ability to see the craftsmanship you put into it. And I personally feel it's totally worth showing off.
