I'm from Richmond and just found Annie's a few years ago. What a Beautiful Gem!! They have a ton of selection Annuals, Perennials, Vines and much more. Every plant type has its own section so that they can flourish. Breathtakingly Beautiful.
I'm usually adverse to annual displays because of their formulaic nature and garish color selections but your gardens are an inspiration! I love your plants and this year, hope to challenge my preconceptions about annual gardens by trying my hand at it. Thank you for your beautiful flowers!
Thank you for this video. Its the most educating for inspiring gardeners like me. Many times, I walk into a nursery wonder around many hours and came out with nothing. None of the nursery have sample display like yours! At least nothing inspiring like yours. Thanks again!
Hello I get Annie's catalogue and do plan to visit since I love to garden and got recently let go of a corporate job. I have a yard which for some reason I do not want to dig. I had Middlebrook(San Jose CA) install native CA plants they brought their own soil, irrigation drip system, mulch. Anyway 90% plants did not take. The system of one plant per pot and put them all together makes SO much sense. And I have most of my plants in pots anyway. Just happy to find Annie and her videos. my "weedin" problem is solved. Amen to the garden goddess.
Hi Annie! Thank you for such nice video! I'm very inspired but will have to wait till next year to start planting again. Do these combination plants have the same water requirement?
Thank you so much for your video. I live in West Palm Beach Florida. Can you please give me any suggestions of perennials that would work for me. I just build a raised bed garden and have not put anything in it yet. I’m looking for something for the babies lots of color and fragrance
Can you recommend some shrubs, plants, and flowers that can be planted in a shady spot? I am looking to plant perennials in my backyard that only gets morning sun?
She's in a zone 10a, so no, lol, none of those plants will survive your Autumn, let alone your Winter. I'm in a 6a/7b in New Jersey and I started laughing when she said "this plant never dies." Richmond California, not central Ohio.
I just acquired 1.5 acres of land and am planning to devote maybe 1/4 acre to building a garden. That's still a lot of space so I can't afford to buy 15" tall plants. Can I simply get seeds and sprinkle them on the ground for them to grow by themselves?
sfbluestar probably. But be aware that a lot of perennials will multiply easily. If you happen to acquire a few grown plants you will be able to split them after several growing seasons and fill things out that way.
Question, do you have to use horse manure sparingly? I have horsea nd PLENTY of composted horse manure, I'm afraid of burning my plants though. Thank you, LOVE your videos and can't wait tocome visit the nursery!
Humidity, for one, I'm sure. but I just randomly picked a zip code in Richmond, California and the USDA website says Richmond, California is a zone 10a.
Before you tell people "it never dies" or "it always comes back," don't you think it would be helpful to tell viewers FROM AROUND THE WORLD, you're in a zone 10A, for god's sake? Sure, tropical flowers and plants NEVER die in a zone frickin' 10A!, lol.
Avoid plants from other continents to support native pollinators. The best gardens that do not look plastic are the ones with native shrubs and flowers.
