Pretty much one of the only people i've seen who considers people in other countries... he normally says temperatures in celsius and farenheit, and says the name for something where he's from, and somewher else.
Hi Todd! I'm a chef in the U.S. and I love looking at your videos. You have great recipes (easy to follow) and they look delicious. Keep up the good work.
Just made this. What a fantastic recipe. I didn't need a quality metal pot, I didn't need a candy thermometer, and I didn't need to stand around and stir. Really clever use of the microwave. Thank you!
I've made these- SOOOO good. I use DARK brown sugar, and sprinkle coarse sea salt on top before I put in fridge. ALSO- my grandma made caramels all the time, and this recipe tastes EXACTLY the same ( Sorry Grandma) HOWEVER, the taste is BETTER if you use a well-buttered metal pan 8 X 8. Not sure why, but it doesn't taste as good out of a glass pan.
Wow, your recipes are so simple and you also describe everything - other names of products and for example microwave power, it is what most cooknig shows lack.
You should make videos on how to make Brittle, white chocolate and cheesecakes. That would be totally awesome. By the way you are an awesome chef !!! :)
Whoever tried this, is it good cuz I'm planning on making it and it sounds and also looks great and AMAZING! Most RU-vid recipes don't turn out well and just don't happen to work as much as a cook book would have!
Great recipe Todd, nice clean up tips also and its delicious. The idiotic fear of corn syrup amazes me since corn syrup is not a GMO product and it certainly is not high fructose. This is much like the OLD fear of MSG which is a naturally occurring flavor enhancer made from seaweed (remember Accent?) and is not advised for some Asthmatics. Another current Sheeple food fear is Gluten which affects less than 1% of the population who have a Gluten intolerance or Celiac disease. I just subscribed and like my Grandmother said "Everything in moderation".
thanks todd. i love caramel and i now can make it myself. i had no corn syrup so i made my own. I mixed 1 cup sugar with 1/4 cup water. stir till boil at medium heat and reduce to low when boil. it will be done when sugar dissolve.
Love this recipe, just next time try to see about cutting out the hard breathing into the mic, I have this problem when I record videos for friends or family... sisters wedding video is 95 percent of me breathing loudly..... if your able to edit before posting or watch the vid and voice over muting the mic might help. There is an actual disorder for people who go bat crap crazy when they hear heavy breathing.
*facepalms*, I was linked to the recipe from a site, thought it was new, Let that be a lesson to not jump to the comments section without some info lol
Tried this recipe out tonight, it is super easy. I added just a splash of vanilla extract to make it more vanilla-y, but that is just preference. Two pro-tips to make your life easier w/ this recipe: 1. Only use glass bowls, and make sure you have a bowl that can hold all the ingredients(allow for 1-2 inches of boil-over) 2. Use all precautionary measures[oven mits(I used silicon mits), other things]. Spilled a bit on my finger and palm, hurt pretty bad, fortunately I was able to remove the hot caramel quickly.
Omg! This an update . These are the best! Not too sweet, they don't stick to your teeth, taste absolutely delicious. I love Carmel's and this is the best recipe. So easy to make . you don't need a candy thermometer either. I cut waxed paper to wrap each piece. I cut them into strips then used a scissors to cut the strips into squares. Turned out perfect. Love love these. Thanks Todd.🚺
Leglesslil Honeslty, I didn't know. I thought there would be other ingredients of some sort but it appears to be pure sugar. Goes to show how much there is to learn about food alone.
Pat1711 Anything yummy is bound to be stuffed full of rubbish - stands to reason I suppose! Won't stop me trying it - my dentist will be pleased anyway!
Nikki Trey you're right. I apologize, I deleted the comment. I honestly don't remember writing it, I must have been having a bad day and took it out in the comment section. I am embarrassed about it, and am grateful you called me out on it, Nikki!
Ohh thank you for this recipe! It is so much easier than doing it the regular way and stirring and boiling for what seems forever! ILove and hugs from a new sub in Dallas Texas.
It does that, thats why you need to keep an eye on it and keep stirring it. Just simply watch it and when it starts to rise open the microwave and stir and it will go back down. As long as you cook it for the right time it will turn out. So keep an eye on it and keep stirring :)
This Recipe is the 💣.Com and it's still #1(I put a lil vanilla extract in Mine) Listen Mr Todd, God Bless You. This recipe is Easy-Peezy, D'Licious and A Winner🏆 Thank you
I am defiantly going to give this a try I am not able to stand at a stove making Carmel and if this is as easy as you make it look it is going to become one of my holiday plate favorites. :) thank you
This was in the related section, because i love baking and cooking. i was watching Rosanna Pansino and this showed up. the first vid i saw, and i subbed :D
This is the easiest way I've seen to make it. Going to try this. Can you make crunchy butter toffee in the microwave to? Great video thanks for the recipe
