Hi! We are Jesse and Staci, first generation farmers who are living our dream. Raising much of our own food, living a simple life, spending time with friends and family, building a farm business, and just living a more wholesome life.
In todays video, Staci shows how she makes Cedar Oil as an herbal remedy. *** Do Not Use*** Cedar oil if you are, or could be pregnant (cedar oil could cause contractions) , or if you have weak kidneys. Also ***Some people are very allergic to cedar oil. Skin irritation could be severe. Test a small spot on your arm for a few days before you use. Please... do your own research, understand what you are making, taking, and using. And consult your physician if you have questions.
Staci is making cedar oil, as it is used for muscle aches and pains, foot fungus, skin irritations, worts, yeast infections, viruses of the skin, and respiratory illnesses. It seems like a very easy to make and powerful herbal remedy to have in a home apothecary.

It is good to rub on sore muscles. A pain reliever of sorts. Cedar oil has many uses. Too many to type in comments. Have fun researching to see if there is a good use for you. Let us know what you come up with!

We do have ticks. We do not have chiggers. We have black flies and mosquitoes though!

I dont know for sure. I am fortunate to have fresh cedar, and it was my first time making the oil. I suspect it is worth try. Let me know how you make out if you try it.

Hi, how long do you put on stove every day for a week, and is it low/simmer? Also how do you make cedarwood oil from the wood? Thank you.

I dont know how to make cedarwood oil. This was o ly my first try with the cedar leaves. I had the leaves and oil on very low on my wood cook stove for 3 days if memory serves. I suspect you could use a crockpot on low for a few days as well.

I hav cedar wood 4 fire pit, i Luv the smell frm the red center,, how can i get Tht smell n2 an oil,??? Iv thought il hav 2 set & split the red section out & try wth tht,,,,, ???

I have no idea how you would get an intense cedar smell into an oil. I bet someone out there in youtube land has the answer for you, though. Feel free to report back here when you find a way. We all learn from each other.

howdy! fellow maine girl here. I was curious. how is the scent? seems I cannot use the oil because I have kidney disease so I was wondering if I could use it as a 'smell pretty'.

Hey there! Great question. The cedar oil has a really delcate scent. You don't smell it unless you are intentional. I wonder if simply snipping some cedar leaves and putting them in a pot of water on a wood stove would give you the rich cedar scent? If you try it, let me know. I may try it too!

I'm curious too! I'm trying to think up a cheap base oil for perfume. I might try going out and boiling some i think I might be able to find it in North tx.

I am not qualified to answer that question. I personally would not take the chance, as oil generates skin. Do some research for sure.

Hi Madam, I have followed you making cidar oil until putting it in a container but you haven't taught how to use whether we're going to apply on the skin to take oral by mouth and the quantity how many times a day or a week and for how long. Kindly advise me.

As I mentioned in the video, I am just learning myself. I have used it to rub on a sore shoulder. However, I would suggest consulting books or on line sources that you trust, or find someone local to you that could guide you with homemade herbal remedies. Thanks for learning all I ng with me.
