I’ve been watching your videos and I find that the way you design is unique. Every time you draw you demonstrated clearly and draw with ease. You are the best teacher ever 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
very nice triks leaving small space on base surface to create small planar hole instead of nasty singularity! Also explode-rejoin to fix naked edge, clever!
i did something like this but it's a pendant. I think plot the dot on the surface and using plug in to draw curve on surface will allow to control much more.
that was very useful, thank you! I've gor a question though. Is there a way to scale the objects while doing a rectangle array? like having smaller objects on the bottom of the ring.
I loved the simplicity of this tutorial. I did it many times but it is always giving me the same mistake. Where the seam is always remain open, others capped easily. I changed the base surface to a slightly larger, exploded it and joined. What the problem can be? I am advanced on rhino :)
@@PJChenJewelryDesign You are most welcome, I've been using Rhino occasionally since the first beta. Over the years at my prior place of employment, we used it for many jobs. I could always get by but never really knew the advanced functions. Since my kid left for college I've had a lot of time on my hands so I took a few courses on udemy and have finally really been getting into the meat of Rhino. I recently discovered your tutorials and they have been a great supplement to burning these advanced techniques into my brain. Thanks so much for making them available to us.
Please help PJ, everytime after flowing the surface my holes at the top and bottom won’t form planar surface , says the curves are not planar and I can’t get it
Wow!!!!😇😇Is it normal that it's about 6 months what I started modeling but I can't modeling everything, only simple and sometimes middle difficulty jewelry?
you can check this link for all the new feature in rhino 7. www.rhino3d.com/7/new/ For me, the SubD is big in Rhino 7. it allow you to work on organic 3D modeling more precisely.
Why did you decide to use sweep 2 instead of curve network to make the ring? It seems much easier, but on a previous video you made a signet ring using the curve network tool.
PJ, great video. i have some challenges trying to copy your explode move at 13:46. After exploding and joining the surfaces, there is still an edge in the middle along the Z axis. Can you suggest what should I do?
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Thank you for the response. I have another question. At 6:15 in the video, you adjusted(enlarged) the UV curve and used that as the boundary to place all the small units. The total length of all the small units will be longer than the original UV curve(created from the volume) in Y direction. Will that create an overlapping condition at the seam?
hi PJ by chance I have an order from a customer this afternoon for a signet ring witn a cabochon stone , it's what I need thanks again, when can you make a video for filigree ?
It really depends on how detail of the texture, what other program you are running while you are using Rhino. my laptop has 16GB RAM, and it has been working fine for both Rhino, adobe and keyshot running at the same time.
Hi aanaga sin, make sure surfaces on both side of edge are perfectly align before you flow. If it doesn't work. you can email your model to my email at pj@pjchendesign.com I will take a look for you.
@@PJChenJewelryDesign I did it again but It has been an closed polysurfeace now, well done. I made mistake as you said my surface on the side of edges not perfectly before. Thank you so much for the trick and tips Guru PJ Chen. Good Job.
I tried to do but to me some things have wrongs Like, the texture, when I did the command rebuild and I pull the point to up, the side of the square follow the central point. But rest went well. could you help me in it?
I use keyshot for my rendering. but if you just want to look like metal like what I have in thumbnail. That was done in Rhino 6. you can assign materials for a quick render view. I will make a show video for it.
