Bayleaves providing a mint flavour? Interesting. There must be multiple varieties of them. Mine are a darker, glossy green colour with an almost citrus, floral flavour.

Do you ever add black beans to your chili oils? Or any pickled mustard? I added zha cai to my last batch and I don't really think I like the result 😂

I don't make specialty chili oils. I make another version with broad bean paste and hotpot mix, in this one I add black beans. Zha Cai is definitely a no go in chili oil afaik. Cheers
