Yes, I'm almost a year late BUT this can be easily done with Moon Animator, without having to create multiple animations. But for the 3D Faces, you have to type in a value between 0 (off) and 1 (on).

Too difficult for me, and too fast.. sadly I don't get how you did the shading within the character.
