Amazing! I grew up eating coconut this way. In my country of Ecuador we call it "manzana de coco" in English would be "coconut apple" I absolutely love seeing this video. I've always wondered how the coconut could taste so sweet and spongy and now I know, they germinate them AMAZING! Germinating seeds has amazing properties too! Love it!
I remember how excited we used to get over this coconut flower. I feel dumb that I never thought about how it sprouted. This is a great video. Farmers rock! To everyone : I understand this process kills the future potential trees but realistically one tree produces so many coconuts that that using a few for this purpose won't make it extinct. Also if you think that way, then we are also destroying amplified amount of future trees just for a glass of coconut water. Just appreciate the knowledge that is being shared in this video.

You can make milk shake, ice cream, cake and bajji out of these. 1. Milk Shake. Cut one full coconut sprout into small cubes, add one glass of milk and three glasses of cold water, add sugar and two pods of cardamom and make a fine juice in a juicer. Seive it and serve chilled. It is a delicious and healthy shake. 2 . ice cream 3. Soft marble cake You need to make a fine paste of the coconut sprout for these two dish. 4. Bajji Cut the sprout into small thin cubes, and like any other bajji, dip it in batter and deep fry till brown colour.
in my home we have about 30 coconut trees. we harvest every 3 months (350 coconut) for our food and coconut oil. we store those coconut in a dark storage room. usually we use dry coconut for oil making. at the time of de-husking we got this spongy thing. it is so tasty. it is good for small children also
I never CEASE to be AMAZED at the Milennial Indian Ingenuity! I don't think we eat coconuts like this in my country, I had expected you to show us how to mill the coconut meat into flour, as in wheat, rice or corn flour for baking bread, but this spongy coconut treat is probably more healthier than bread and so tasty! Thumbs up, thank you for sharing and Greetings from Mexico! :)

In florida I found a coconut outside of my boyfriends grandfathers house floating down the canal, (My first time in Florida) I was overly excited and we cut it open and it had what Im assuming is the beginning stages of this ^^ it was a large white ball inside of the coconut. *MIND* *BLOWN*
You don't have to plant it at all. The sprouts will naturally come out on its own. The best time is during the early stages of sprouting, that's when it is sweet and firm. As it gets older with strong green leaves shooting up, the flesh gets softer and resembles cotton. The flesh is actually the food for the new coconut tree. Eaten at its peak, it is very delicious and refreshing. Nature's gift..
It will not on its own at that rate of speed. Planting it in the soil & watering it regularly will actually speed the process instead of having to wait for too long.
This is one of my favourite parts of the coconut. In the northern Cook Islands we grate the flower what we call the uto, mix with water to make a refreshing drink, great for summer.
For summer we South Indians have special herbal drinks like Nannari root drink, Khus root drink, indin sacred tree called Bilva fruit drink, and finally lassi three best medicated plus natural cool drinks which helps us to withstand the 30 to 40 and nearly 50 °c hot weather of South Indian Summer.

In Mexico we call it the apple la manzana del coco. Yummy. When I tell people here in the states about it...they have no clue what I am talking about lol.
Thank you for this video Brother, I always remember the delightful taste when I first ate this 45years ago back home in Mauritius Island, but I always wonder how it grows, now I know, thanks again.
The texture is like water absorbed white sponge, sometimes very sweet, squeeze it, get half glass of sweet coconut water. Eating it feels like spongy white watermelon. The sponge absorbs d coconut water n pass it up 4 the leaves n roots to grow. It also uses up the coconut flesh. COCOBYE !
