Hi! Today, I will talk about different collage techniques.
1) Use anything that you have at home: old magazines, vintage books, newspapers, paper coasters, envelopes, old postmarks, tissues, receipts and train cards.
2) Do it all based on colour. Pick a couple of main colours to make sure the collage looks less messy. It doesn't matter how busy your lay-out is.
3) Quotes on your pictures (especially when you take them from an old book) can make pictures look more interesting.
4) Add something unexpected, like dried flowers or autumn leaves. You can dry them beforehand: place them between the pages of a book for a couple of weeks.
5) Use different textures.
6) Give paper an unique look by tearing the edges, folding it or staining it with coffee or tea.
7) Make your pages look more interesting by adding circles or other rectangular shapes.
8) Add quotes, lyrics, poems, to-do-lists, a gratitude log or a small calendar to fill up space.
9) Add washi tape.
10) Is your collage missing something? Add small drawings.
