The way you turned a 12$ mask into a fursuit partial just shows how dedicated furries are to their art. A lot of people think that dinomask furries aren't "real furries" and they don't work as hard on their masks, but they're so wrong. They don't realize how much work truly goes into dinomasks. So thanks so much for making a tutorial of how to make a high quality dinomask. You really show the artistic talent furries have. 👏👏👏

Exactly. My mom sees a lot of Dino mask furries around her store but never knew that they were furrys. I explained that they were and my dad said that they aren’t furries. I was very mad about that since I myself am a Dino mask furry

This is an amazing tutorial. I've been looking for one on how to best place feathers on a suit for forever and could never find a decent one. My dino has a feather crest, so I want to make it look realistic instead of just using fur. Thank so much!

The biggest drawback to using actual feathers is that the suit is much more fragile.

Summer Madness, I was smoothing my head base, then I was told I couldn’t use the vacuum to clean up the foam by my mom- here I was 2 hours later hand picking up all the shreds XDDD

Just be sure you bleach and sanitize the quills of them. Feathers from wild birds can contain diseases and bacteria.

You did absolutely amazing on this, and I love the good energy you're giving off when you talking about how the feathers look like it was made how you made it look. You definitely gave me the confidence for my raptor mask. Although mine wont have feathers, you've giving a great tutorial that will help with the furhood and making the mask more comfortable.

I use old shirts A lot of my characters are mostly black like my raptor gene and they aren’t really furry or feathery so it’s perfect Also you can order gardening gloves in all different types of colours on amazon that have claws that are meant to replace a spade for digging but are perfect for raptor claws/paws (if you sew fur on but I personally prefer leaving them be)

I've never made a fursuit before, and planning on making a dino! I'm super nervous for it as I'm really bad at painting, sewing and DIY stuff in general :') do you have any advice for adding foam ears? I honestly have no clue how to do it ahah

I have made 2 dinosuits, so i recommend making your ear form on a paper, clip it out and line it on foam, you should make only one first, lay that on some foam and then copy it, that makes it symmetrical, trim them if you need to or want to, and then glue them right near the outside or inside edge of the back of the mask, and youre done with the foam ears! Hope this helped!!

Hot glue seams can be folded and held to dry in certain positions to looks clean, but I do have to agree it is uncomfortable, you can't wear your suits outside on a hot day for very long, the heat weakens the glue holding everything together. When I was a beginner I glued everything, and learned my lesson after accidentally leaving a suit head in the car in the middle of summer. She fell apart. A pair of legs I had made without sowing had also fallen apart after their first outing, It was definetly worth taking the time to recall how to sow from when my grandmother taught me, and it was even more worth learning about the different types of stitches you can use, its just super useful in making what you make look clean and a bit more professional:)

Wow. This is inspiring. I would love to start something making fursuits. Maybe challenging myself to take cheaper animal masks and using them to make cool fursuit heads. I don't know if people would enjoy that though. Maybe if enough people like it then I will think about going into that.

My mum says that it’s a “waste of money” or I’m “being lazy” if I get a raptor mask and paint it. She’s doesn’t really accept that in a furry, honestly she doesn’t understand the fandom at all and she sees them all as idiots that run around in animal costumes for no reason 😖

You can always hand sew. Machines just tend to have stronger stitching.
