While I was watching you do the repour, I thought "I'd use the bottom for the top and the 'top' for the bottom.... then you'd have a nice smooth top." And that's exactly what you did. I love this! Very ingenious. And who doesn't need candles?
A suggestion for you that will help. Some your wick in wax first, that is called priming. It does a few things, 1) it is much easier to thread your wick in the hole, 2) it helps to keep the wick from sliding around and 3) you will get a better burn from your candle. I make candles and candle molds for a living, your work is beautiful darling, keep being creative!
thanks SO much Cathy, you are a godsend! never knew you could put tissue paper on candles...(guess what everyone i know is getting for christmas )..thanks
I'm starting up making candles again and this video was wonderful. I do as wonder, as another poster, about how tissue on the outside of the pillar will work when burned. But it's simply beautiful and I can't wait to try it. And I love the shrink wrap idea. Is a hair dryer hot enough to do that? Or do you really need a heat gun?
That's really cool, how you did all of that! thank you for the video. Quick question: where can I buy the pillar candle moulds. I really like yours. I saw a few on Ebay but thing compared to yours. Thanks :)
Hi, I do like your video but tell me where I can buy the paper, you said it is a tissue paper but I can't find something like that. Help me please. Thank you.
My candles shrink a lot at the centre while they're cooling, and if I add a second layer, there's a white line that gets formed. Should I add the second layer of wax in before or after the wax in the mould has solidified?
Apologies for the late response. I add wax when it's cooler. Not too hot directly into the sink and slowly let it rise to the brim that is already been formed, like mot cover it completely. Hope this makes sense.
I used to sell them but I am don't anymore because I sew now. I pacakaged them using shrink paper for wrapping gift baskets. They are so big so I measure and cut the paper a little bigger than the candle then use a heat gun to shrink it on the candle. If you are in the US you can get it from the Dollar Tree. Here is a link so you know how it looks like www.dollartree.com/party-supplies/gift-wrap-bags-accessories/Shrink-Wrap-Bags-with-Pull-Bows/574c590c590p25448/index.pro

I have a 3pc Fifty shades of grey pack, 3pc Soy candle pack, 3pc solid lotion bar pack,b3pc Goats Milk MP pack, 3pc Soy Wax Melt Pack (6cubes in each clamshell) Make sure you use candle safe oils or fragrances. I’m a Qualified Aromatherapist and Naturopath an and a successful home based business women. TIP: cotton wicks with tabs are best to use and stock down with a stickum
The best wax i use is Ecosoya CB135 Soy Wax known as Q210 now - and make sure you colour with the suitable wax Dyes, Blocks or chips & to scent with fragrances or Essential Oil. Cotton wicks are the safest as they won't omit black smoke - I like to add in beeswax so that asthmatic and allergy sufferers can enjoy the aroma as well without having an attack, as beeswax is known to take the ions out of the air that cause these - I have customers that can't stand Scentsy or cheap store bought candles and melts but can stand mine. I make and sell the safest Candles & Melts in Australia. Store bought and Parrafin candles are known to be toxic n yuck which is why it's so cheap. Plz visit my page Chillaxing Melts, Candles & Body Products on Facebook. I also Make various body Products including just to name a few : scrubby dog Soaps, MP Soaps Only in Goats Milk, Clear & Opaque, luscious lip balms & Lickable Lip scrubs, face & Hair masks - see my page for more
