Here are the ingredients for the beef jerky recipe:
1. 9lbs of beef - cut into thin strips
2. 6 tsp of granulated chicken flavor soup base mix
3. 3 Tb of sugar
4. 3 Tb of ground black pepper
5. 4 Tb of oyster sauce - Panda brand
6. 3 Tb of black soy sauce
7. 2 Tb of salt

I thought that the meat was trimmed somewhat thick. But 8 hours later, it was super thin. I wonder what kind of order that it creates that makes you not want it in the kitchen. I would suspect that it would smell appetizing with all those ingredients. Good job.

The meat shrank down a lot, and the whole house would smell like beef jerky if I did it in the kitchen.

the smell will cling to fabric forever. don't make it in the basement or garage, either. any clothing items hanging around will stink to high heavens. if it's 45 degrees or above, I do it in a covered area outdoors. on cooler, windy days I put the dehydrator in a carboard box with very little venting. enjoy ^^
