As Catholic Christian as I am I have to tell you that so far that you are the only cook you-tuber that has prayed before your meal setting an example to your subscribers. I loved it and loved your cornish hens
Your not a Catholic Christian, you are Catholic - that means you are “the” original Christian. I find it bizarre when people use that horrible phrase in our modern speech. Looking forward to cooking this tonight.
When u pray. I gets me right into my soul thank u so much for that. I was in a car accident 3 years ago and been in a lot of pain. U gave me the strengths to go on. LOVE YA MUCH. Never give up
I never comment on RU-vid. But this was mine and my fiancé’s first Christmas away from our families, as he just got relocated from Atlanta to Louisville for his job. I wanted to make sure it was special, so I researched the best recipe. And not only did this one stand out for it’s seasoning, but the prayer really brought me back home. Thank you Gina.
I have to say that this recipe is a must! Everybody should have this recipe at their home. Dear Gina, I have tried this recipe, and OMG, my whole family loved it! This was the first meal that my boyfriend ate that I cooked, and he couldn't stop eating it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You have to be one of the sweetest people on the Earth and to actually make me smile in the kitchen while I'm cooking and maybe even creating a slight desire to want to cook you are amazing thank you so much
My family tore every bit of these hens up, Left nothing to spare!! These were so tender and delicious, and it was my very first time making Cornish hens thank you so much!!!!
Gosh. This sweetheart is absolutely a gift from God. I’m not overly religious but she touched me. I absolutely love how she washed up. Many I’ve seen only do a fast rinse and don’t use a towel! Bless this lady
Honestly I love your videos not because of the recipes (don't get me wrong your meals look fabulous and I bet they are flavorful and scrumptious), but more so because of your personality and the conversation you have with the audience. Reminds me of my youth during the holidays when my grandmother, mom, and aunts would get together to cook for our family. Good times cooking and conversing. Thanks you bringing back memories and sharing your cooking skills Ms. Young. God Bless!
First time I made a turkey.. my mom was walking me through it. She told me how to scrub it, then told me to pick it up by wings “make it dance” then flip it, “smack it’s butt” and put it in pan. I did it! Without realizing at first. We laughed! She said that is how it has been done in family for generations. I will teach my daughters. 💕
I love this. I teach youngsters int the trades and you gotta just remind them to try and keep the big picture in mind. Usr your common sence at all times if possible lol. Not get like zoned into a tunnel while learning lmao
That prayer 🙏🏾 🙌🏾 amen. I want to thank your husband for sharing you with us. I’ve incorporated many of your techniques into my meals and my man and son enjoy every meal I prepare. Thank you Mrs Gina Young. Love you lots babydoll.
Hi Gina I want to truly thank you for your videos. When I'm in doubt I go and watch your videos to make sure I'm preparing everything right or to make sure I have all the ingredients. I just watched your Cornish Hens and cornbread stuffing this morning. Thank you for inspiring me.
I’m doing the COVID-19 thanksgiving this year, so it’s just my children and myself. Never cooked a whole thanksgiving meal by myself. This is the perfect alternative for a large turkey that may go to waste. Thank you!
Beautiful delicious dinner Gina! Your family are truly blessed to have a Wife and Mother like You. You are truly a Great Cooker, but also a Beautiful Woman of God!!!❤
Hey Gina. I am old school, so I know how to cook, but I love your seasonings that are new to me. Just to add that your are right. If you use Maggie Polo, use very little salt, if any. I learned the hard way. Thanks, you are my go to chef.
It was so amazing. I follow directions in which you have given, and my Cornish hands turned out so good so succulent and tender and juicy and brown. Thank you for your recipe Michele and detroit.
Aww... You are just too sweet! So adorable. It's 2021 and you are still blessing people by these Cornish Hens because this is what I'm making tonight! Be blessed!
Thank you! Love your presentation and personality. I’ve had a terrible week and hearing you say that God is good and isn’t going to let you forget that Sazon made me smile and, surprisingly, helped take the edge off my stressed out mind. My problems are massive and crazy complex, but God is good and loves us all the way down to the little things. Thank you
Thank you for going through the process of cleaning those birds. I did not know how to do that so now it can be part of my routine. The Hens turned out great. Definitely something I want to fix in my kitchen!
Hum, you made me have to think back, lol! We made these beginning of September. Labor day weekend. I put ours in the smoker grill on the rotisserie. Basted every 10 minutes with a mix of soy sauce, honey and 5 spice powder that I reduced a bit. They came out a cherry mahogany color, yum yum yum! I love these little birds, they are so versatile! I will save your recipe for next time I make them🤞
I will try yours recipe as well...Thanks 😉 My Husband grills them for me but I need to try your sauce.. Hugs and Love to you and your Family from Wisconsin USA 🤗😍🙇♀️😘
@@godzdaughterh1180 Thank you. Just put a little of the 5 spice powder. Start with like 1/2tsp and add from there because it can become over powering in an instant. I used 3/4 to 1c soy sauce, 1c honey, 1tsp 5 spice powder and 1/2tsp white pepper. We made 1 whole hen per person, but you can cut them in half and smoke them right on the grill grates. Keep basting every 5-10 minutes. Oh, and I let mine sit in the marinade 2hrs at room temperature before grilling. I did cook n reduce my marinade just a wee bit before basting on the grill. 🎃
I don’t care when I need to look up one of your videos; yours are by far the easiest to follow! Your voice and instructions are the best. I especially love how “impeccably clean” everything is. I really like the alternatives you give as well as what you’re doing in the video. Now I am off to making my Cornish hens thanks to your awesome video. God bless you.
Ms Gina with that beautiful soothing voice I tune in just to hear you explain each dish you present to us. You are the best of the best 👍🏾❤️. I truly enjoy watching you cook and share those delightful dishes. Keep blessing and gracing us with these amazing meals.🙏🏾🙏🏾👍🏾👍🏾❤️❤️
I thank God I clicked onto your side cuz I was cooking two Cornish hens this morning and I didn't know what to do thank you so much for sharing and may God richly bless you and your family continue to bless information to help people like me
Loved the prayer! Pray 🙏🏾 my mothers loves Cornish hen all the time. I’m going to make them like you right now. Then I’m going to take some to my mother
Hey Gina. Looking fab as usual. Guess you might get tired of my comments but you're a great cook an I sincerely believe you're a great person an a woman of faith. Praise God for you blessing every meal before you take a bite. Don't know if you want a tip, but here goes. You can take tip of knife and puncture a small hole into chicken of any type and put the end of leg in, cross the other leg over an it stays. Also figure 8 the twine. This way if you stuff it, it won't fall out. I love onions an all veggies. I've put in onion wedges an is it ever good! Or mix in bell peppers with onions an still add whatever else you like. #to check for doneness, take end of leg, bound or unbound, push it towards the thigh. If its loose, its done! My goodness. I love to watch your channel. You give a good feeling even when I'm under the extensive amount of pain that's my constant companion. Thanks for that. Blessings to you and family, as well as your subscribers. 🙏💜👍o,btw, I always keep any broth and drippings in a ziploc bag, date it before adding contents, an I freeze it for when I make dressing also. Or for gravy. You can pour it into an ice cube tray. Then bag it. This way you can take out what you need and not waste any. Have a great day :)
Hey Gina!! You're so right about Cornish hens for the holidays. I made them for Christmas dinner last year along with a prime rib roast. I love your recipe and think I'll be making them this year for Thanksgiving. God bless you and happy cooking always :-)
I stumbled upon this video as I was looking for a recipe. All of a sudden you started praying in Jesus name and when you finished, I hit subscribe and rang that notification bell. Thanks for sharing and letting you light shine so brightly!
I just finished watching this enjoyable video. I bought some Cornish hens yesterday and had to find a you tube video on how to prepare them. Thanks so much for this and now I'm all excited to try this for our Thanksgiving meal. I'll have to look for sazon. I'll ask at the Coop if they have some. I had never heard of it before. I appreciate the prayer so much! I also subscribed!
Really enjoyed this. I just wanted to say I was feeling really convicted because when I wake up in the middle of the night restless I usually read the word. Instead some reason your name kelp popping up. Then after watching the show your awesome prayer said everything I needed to hear. Thanks for your food ministry
I am known for having the BEST, MOST FLAVORFUL Turkey and Chicken. A little trick I do is: add slices of butter and seasoning UNDERNEATH the poultry skin. Slice small slits in the poultry, and push the butter, herbs, garlic and seasoning INTO the poultry. (Lemon pepper, dried and fresh rosemary, season salt, and touch of honey are among a few ingredients I use). This will add IMMENSE flavor to the MEAT itself, not just the skin. 😊
I am ALONE for Christmas....wanting to cook Cornish hen...and I stumbled on your channel....Thanks so very much for SUCH A LOVELY VIDEO...I LOVE your energy, work ethic, and positive outlook.....Thanks again for a fantastic video. Warmest Regards, from Toronto, Canada!
Stumbled upon your page looking for a Cornish Hen recipe and the recipe was absolutely amazing but I have to tell you… It’s the Jesus and prayer for me!!🙌🏾🙌🏾
Gina really knows what she is doing in the kitchen! Her step -by-step process answered any questions that I may have had about making cornish hens. Off to the kitchen I go!
Oh, I wanted to say, which has nothing to do with this video, but, when you make a holiday turkey, loosen the skin from the meat over both sides of the breast. On each side add a sprig (5 leaves on each) of fresh sage. Make sure you position them. After it roasts, you can see the sage right thru the skin. Looks pretty impressive 🎃🦃🎃
I was driving in my car looking at this recipe for tonight and when you began to pray thank you Jesus because today is actually the first of 2023 prayer is what I needed to hear
Making thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year ❤️ and watching your video helped me out so much! Gave me so much more confidence to make a good thanksgiving dinner & I wanted to do Cornish hens instead of turkey. thank you 🙏🏽❤️ god bless you 👏🏽
The ads on RU-vid interrupted the prayer, and I was like devil I know you lying trying to interrupt the Lord like this! lol Great video! Thank you Happy Holidays
