I like how you even explain the purpose of every ingredient and steps along the way. It not only clearly provides proper steps in cooking the recipe but also educate those watching the video.
When I was young, learning how to cook, No one taught me the purposes of condiments clearly..That's why I include those explanations in my video so that people can understand Japanese cooking better. 😊
Videos like this are the reason I get so annoyed when people say "I can't cook", your video is so in depth and the instructions are so clear literally anyone can follow like a pro. Love this video and can't wait to try it
I so appreciate the precision of your instructions. Explaining why things are done the way they are is helpful as well. Thank you for your excellent tutorials.
You’re a very good instructor 😊 my grandkids specially my grandson he’s crazy about Japanese cuisine. Whenever I visit them they always want to take me to Japanese restaurants that served good sushi which really expensive and put a hole in my wallet 😅 I’ve been sharing to them your recipes as they also love to cook. Thank you for sharing 🙏🥰
Good, measurable information. Thank you!!! I have pursued the secret to Southern Fried Chicken for decades. I now see that it is less important where the recipe/style originates, than how the chicken is prepared. I can't WAIT to try this. There is a certain logic to your cooking that really resonates with me|!
This is amazing! It is definitely the best Karaage video I have ever seen on RU-vid! I’m making it now!!! So detailed while easy to follow!!! Please keep uploading new recipes and videos!❤❤❤ sending you so much love!!! Thaaaank you!!!!
Ive always wanted to cook Japanese food but was too scared to try. Your video has given me confidence. And your slow calm instructions are perfect!! Great visuals too. Thank you so much.
The thing I love best is that I've been a home chef for over 40 years and with every video I watch of yours, I learn something new. Another thing I love about you is how often you say "please". Your channel is VERY informative and valuable to me, very much like the Bob Ross of culinary arts. Thank you so much for doing what you do and how you do it! 🙏
I'm new to cooking and wanted to get into marinating, and Karaage was the best way I could get started. Thank you for the clear and slow instructions alongside the careful tips in each step!
I tried making this last night. Didn't have any sake, so I used Mirin instead. Surprisingly, it came out rather good. Not quite as crispy as I had hoped, but I think the oil wasn't quite hot enough. You really taste the marinade in this dish, so I suggest having rice along with it, even if it isn't curry rice. The rice and the karaage really complement each other.
Will try to make this recipe soon. Always so informative with details step by step makes it easier for me to understand! Love your cooking and recipe. Thanks 🙏
@@sushibykunihiro7534 you’re so awesome to respond to your audience. Feel so special and honored. ❤️🙏👍 I’m new on your channel but have tried making my first recipe of teriyaki chicken and it was a success.
Kunihiro san is a very good teacher, you explain the process in detail and the reason why it's done that way. That is very important to me as someone who has no confidence in cooking.
Hello from Uruguay. It's my first time at your channel. Nice video. You explain so clearly the recipe, steap by step. I like so much the japanese food.Great job. Bye bye
I’m a very good cook, but Japanese food always intimidates me, after watching this video I feel confident to start with a simple yet delicious recipe like this one!!!! Thank you 😊
This one is super easy to recreate, and it's delicious. I hope you'll like it. Japanese food is not as difficult as you think it is. Please relax and enjoy cooking. 😊 Thank you for watching.
🔥This is such a good recipe, very detailed. I like the use of chopsticks and bubbles for oil temp, incase someone doesn't have a thermometer they can make this too. 🐔 PS: Every meal is better with ヒトカゲ =)
Hi Kunihiro. I love karage!!! Thank you for the wonderful videos and great recipes. You really break down the ingredients and instructions so so clear and well. I loved this recipe. I hope you post a video on ‘chicken katsu’ as well at one point. I lived in Japan for 2 years as a teacher and chicken katsu was one of my favorites there. I had it for lunch nearly every day, lol! I went to one of those old fashioned little family places in Kumamoto, where they would pair it with sides like a tiny portion of potato salad and a little tablespoon portion of spaghetti and tomato sauce, and maybe some tiny tsukemono on the side and a little fishcake slice. A spot of Japanese hot mustard on the side, of course. It was all so simple and beautiful, but above all, amazingly delicious. Anyhow, thank you again! 😊
Just made this for dinner - absolutely fabulous ! balance of the seasoning just right & double frying of the chicken made it so crispy, thanks once again for sharing your wonderful recipes Kunihiro 🙏👍😊
Very step-by-step and the narration is very soothing. I'm saving this one to make one of these days. I remember sitting in a hotel bar in Tokyo and couldn't decide whether I wanted their curry or karaage. I decided to have both at the same time. Karaage Curry, I guess you could call it. I loved it and ordered another. I love it almost as much as Tonkatsu.
クニヒロさん!thank you for your content ❤ I moved to America from Japan and I was craving Karaage for so long so I made this last night and it was delicious! My family loved it ❤ please continue making your awesome cooking videos. And thank you for the chopstick tip, it’s so helpful!
I made your Tonkatsu. Southern fried pork chop is my family favorite. The tonkatsu was the best fried pork I have ever eaten. It was an easy recipe too!
Arigato Chef, I love Japanese cuisine and people(so very well mannered/civil). Soba, Udon, Ramen and Hoshihikari rice are stocked in my larder for my family meals. We eat sushi/sashimi out & the rest is up to me at home to produce. I appreciate you & your channel my friend. Domo arigato.
Thank you so much Mr Kunihiru . That was a very good presentation 👏. My wife now is pressuring me to make this for Sunday dinner. Oh well as they say, " HAPPY WIFE- HAPPY LIFE ".😊
Dear Kunihiro, I, along with many other fans, think you are a beautiful soul. You are making chefs of us all. You are a great teacher, as one lady wrote, we don't have to second guess. I would love you to know how much you are appreciated, and taking time out of your precious day. Hugs from Australia. Thank you.🙏
I was deeply touched to receive your heartfelt message from Australia. It warms my heart to know that my culinary journey has had such a positive impact on you and many others. Your words of appreciation and the love from my fans mean the world to me. I am genuinely grateful for your kind words. I'm sending warm hugs right back to you from across the miles. 😊🙏
Dude that was bloody delicious i just got back from eating it had its with a sriracha mayo and some sticky rice with Japanese 7 spice sprinkled over the top WOW WOW WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
Sounds great! Sriracha Mayo is a delicious addition to Karaage. 🤤 It's still very hard to find Sriracha in Japan... I believe Japanese people will love it, though. Anyway, Thank you for trying my recipe! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed so much.😊
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you and your husband enjoy the dish so much. It's always wonderful to hear when my recipe becomes a family favorite. 😊
Thank you Chef- you're work is so very clean and informational. I thoroughly enjoy watching your demos, and learn a couple more new factoids out of each of your videos. Kudos! As a retired Food & Beverage director, I have to confess I've seen it all when it comes to cooking demos in any cuisine style. I'm a tough audience; I've always got issues with how cooking demos are put together. Once I saw your first videos and hit that "subscribe" button, I was on to the next video on your channel. That, Chef, is a first for me . . . from a long career in hospitality, your simple, direct, and informative style of delivery is as pure as it gets and a winner in any cuisine. Doumo arigatō. 😮
Thank you for your kind words, Chef. I genuinely appreciate your support and feedback. It means a lot to me that you find my work clean and informative.😊
Great video! Thank you! I've been making this for about 5 years, and after I saw this video, I tried adding the egg because I usually go straight from the marinade to the starch. It was good, but it gave the coating a more, I don't know, crunchy feeling like southern-fried chicken. Straight into the starch is more crispy. I prefer it without the egg, but everyone likes different things :)
Oishii, I had traveled to Japan a few times and one time, I had fried chicken wings at a restaurant near the JR Nagoya train station, the wings were so delicious !!!
@@sushibykunihiro7534 It is already good enough to make again. If it turns out even better than this, I'll be very happy. What kind of sauce do you recommend with this?
That looks absolutely fabulous and mouth watering. I’m going to give a try for sure. Thank you much for sharing your recipe. Love from Stockholm, Sweden.
The double fry is awesome. That explained why obento ordered for teacher school lunch was always crisp. Thank you. Now I can enjoy happy memories as I eat my twice fried karaga.
Good afternoon from Okinawa Japan! Thanks for the great recipe. Since I live in Japan, we have great chicken kaorage places close by , but we are going to make it next week!!
What a nice gentleman. I love your accent. Gentle, unobtrusive music helps to make this a very easy to understand show. Thank you very much. Warmest regards from Ontario.
