How to make Drum & Bass Drums sound EVEN BETTER! 

I'm enjoying watching your vids and love the speed at which you're working so I thought I'd mention... there's a much quicker way of tightening the 'release' portion of individual sounds (like a kick or snare) on a track and applying that to each one at the same time, rather than tweaking the fade out and then copy/pasting. Windows version: Right-click on 'Track title bar' > choose 'Select track content' > Click on 'Clip View Selector' tab > Under Warp settings, make sure 'Beats' is selected, Preserve 'Transients', Transient Loop Mode set to 'off' (looks like a right arrow pointing at a vertical line) and then decrease from 100 to taste. Sounds complicated but it's super fast as most of these are default settings. You can use this on whole drum breaks, particularly those with splashy cymbals, it'll tighten them right up, with no need for any deep editing. You can also play around with various warp settings if you want to add a basic fade at the end of every 8th note or quarter note or whatever. It's great for removing reverb decay on some sounds and you can customise exactly where you want these fades to happen by placing your own transient markers etc. It's a trick that derives from the way you could tighten up sampled breaks in a legendary sample editor called 'Recycle'. I also like using it on vocals and pads to create stuttering effects! I just wish Ableton would let you automate the 0-100 amount so you could do stuff like make a splashy drum break tighten up and then breath again over time or in a build up etc.... although, there's nothing to stop you recording those movements in manually if you want to commit to it.
