These were amazing!! I made both the beef and chicken. Thought I would have a hard time since it was my first but Evelyn you made it so easy to follow! I feel like you are my friend. They were so good that I was able to sell them at my son's concession stand for wrestling and they sold out. The only difference is that I used the smaller discs since I wanted to have more of them.
Unfortunately I never had the chance to learn how to make all these recipes that are so close to my culture, with toxicity in my family I wasn’t able to pick up these favorite recipes. Your page brings me so much comfort and since I don’t have my mother to teach me these things I have always wanted to learn, it really means a lot watching your videos and I learn so much, I now get to pass these recipes down to my children! so i wanted to make vegan empanadas but all the vegan recipes were to far from the real thing i looked up traditional empanadas and found your video thank you very much i just replaced the meat with a vegan beef crumble and they turned out fabulous!
I made these today and they came out SOOOO good. I decided to make the dough myself using a recipe from another video that I found and my entire family enjoyed it so much! Had it for lunch and dinner hahah. Thank you so much for sharing this! I just forgot to drain the oil haha oops so I had a little bit of a hard time assembling a few of them, but I will for sure remember for next time!

No I'm not Jamaican but I respect all cultures. I went to a wedding for a Jamaican couple and they had beef patties there. Loved them since then. I make friends with a lot of people from different cultures. That's how I needed up trying empanadas lol. My friends step mom is Puerto Rican.

I made them today. I used 93-7 meat to fat ratio, so there was no fat to drain. Added half sweet red pepper, one onion, (both chopped), jalapenes cut up, large tablespoon tomato paste, garlic, cumin, s&p. Had trouble finding empanada shells so I used pie dough. They were delicious. Ist time, but NOT my last time. Also added Some shredded cheddar cheese in them. I baked them, next time I'll fry them...Delicious !! Thankyou !

That's helpful how you really showed us what we are looking for for dough and printed where to go. So many videos your rewinding to try to get a look at what they are using and don't kmow where to get it and who wants to go from store to store looking for something.Plus you could walk right by it if you don't know what your looking for.

For the dough you can also use cans of refrigerated Pillsbury Pie Crusts or the Crescent Dinner Rolls. Not exactly traditional but super fast, easy and sooo good!
