I made a video about the recording of this track back in 2016, a POV walk through showing the programming and some jamming. The multitrack recording went into the archive for a few years, and finally i managed to arrange and mix it down properly.
The Space Age Mix is made from the same TR 808 sounds, but spiced up with some additional processing.

I normally have at most 5 or 6 tracks on my mixes (since im mostly a hobbiest with music production and its mostly hip hop and I keep it very simple) and even then mixing it gives me PTSD... I cannot fathom how you electro guys mix your beats with all that's going on in them, Nice job.

Fantastic! I like them all; the composition, the arrangement and the production (mixing). Sounds fresh, modern and pleasant. Very well done! The kick sounds more like a 909 now, crazy. With that well-defined attack. Interesting that you utilized Soothe quite much. The overall-approach is nice, too. I am an Ableton Live user since the betas before v1, but I rarely use the computer these days for making music. Mainly because I work with computers in my day-to-day-job pretty much 100% - at least it's an audio-related job. But then at home, I enjoy working with real hardware. That being said, I think the route shown here shows that it gives great results when the best of these two worlds is combined. I mean, if I wanted that amount of processing in hardware, I would need even more devices and space. Would be fun though :-) And arranging ideas from loop to a fullblown track is way more efficient with computer-usage. Anyways; I will buy these tracks today.

Thanks again for your comments. I bought soothe2 just recently, thats why i'm putting (testing) it on almost every channel at the moment. I was already well equipped for resonance removal with the ProQ3 and my ears, but I like to try out new things too. If they safe me time, i'll use 'em. :) Same as you, I work in front of a computer screen most of the day, but i'm so used to all the tools and workflow helpers in the DAW that i'm still faster with my hybrid approach than trying to get what i want (club + car ready tracks) with just hardware and my current engineering abilities. And as you pointed out, considering my budget & space needs - trying to replicate my workflow in hardware only it's not really an option right now. Thanks for you support, Cheers from Basel
