Long-awaited, highly requested CRISPY and FLAKEY Taiwanese Scallion Pancake is finally here! Welcome to Day 7 of Cooking Street Foods for 15 Days! Today we are making one of my favorite must-have street food whenever I go back to Taiwan, Scallion Pancake. Crispy and flakey on the outside, chewy and flavourful on the inside. There is a reason why people will line up for HOURS to get Scallion Pancake when they visit Taiwan! Did I mention that it is vegan-friendly as well? With only FIVE simple ingredients, I will show you how to make Taiwan’s famous street food Scallion Pancake at home!

In India also there is a similar dish called parota ,but here we don't add green onions that is the difference 😊

The quantities were way off on this recipe for me. Two cups of flour to one cup water produced a VERY sticky dough and I needed to add almost another cup of flour. The amount of oil was also way too much -- as written it's two tablespoons of scallion oil per pancake, which just led to oil oozing out of the rolls as you work with them.

Yeah her measurements seem a bit off esp the amount of oil When people make this kind of food it’s not usually measured (ppl just throw it together) so just add whatever works for it to look right

It can be rolled out much bigger and thinner. Then the 2 tbs will be just right. The oil oozing out is ok since when you roll it out it will help with not sticking to the board

Some versions of this is called cong you bing which means scallion oil pastry. The oil is infused with the scallion flavor. I personally like it with loads of scallions
