How to make Fairy Wings

This is how I made my strapless fairy wings with wire and fabric :) I've really been on a butterfly/fairy vibe recently:

Turn on closed captions if you want the instructions too!
Materials needed:
~ 3.15mm tie wire (in the fencing section at bunnings). For my USA friends this is 9 gauge wire.
~ Fabric: I used “fairy organza” from Spotlight
~ Puffy paints
~ Florist tape
~ Hot glue gun
~ Electrical tape
~ A corset (to wear it)
Optional:
~ Acrylic paint
~ Mod podge/PVA glue

For those of you who want to make your own, turn on the closed captions for detailed instructions of what I’m doing. ✂️ Also, I’ve made the template into a print-at-home pattern. You can find it here: natasharosediy.etsy.com/listing/1719028152 I’ve been enjoying making videos that are less instructional, and more of an aesthetic experience. It’s a really fun way for me to express myself in the editing (and honestly I don’t enjoy recording voiceovers). Personally I like watching asmr craft videos so I’m going to continue in this style in the future and see how it unfolds 💜

I’m so happy that I happen to run across your channel that you made a video a year or so ago with the mushroom hat I watch the whole video from the beginning to the end and I thought I would come over and see what I could find a more recent post and see what you do on your channel was so surprised and happy to see the fairy wings. So beautiful. I am looking to make something like this for my niece who is a teenager. I think these are the best I've found. Love your workmanship, beautifully done love the mushroom hat. Also if you ever think of selling that mushroom had let me know about it to let me know how much if they still have it that just looks so beautiful. I still can’t get over how pretty it turned out. @@billieday5283 I walked around the hardware store and tried all the wires that were available. Wire from 2 mm, galvanized. If you take 2.5 or more in diameter, it will be very difficult to bend. Plus she said that this is fencing wire, steel is suitable as a material. And it is desirable that the wire be coated with a layer of protective primer. This will help avoid further corrosion, so I used galvanized wire

Depends on how comfortable you are wearing a corset for a whole day! I find I can only do a few hours at a time, but I know some people “corset train” so they can wear it for a full day. But with a sturdy corset the wings will be very snug :)

Add shoulder straps and a strap around the underbust area, like a harness. Ideally with non-stretchy material

Did a great job on the wings. I watch the video from the beginning to the end. Do you sell these by any chance. I don’t know if I’m as creative as you, but I wouldn’t mind a nice set of wings if they’re not too expensive let me know. On my latest video up and then maybe we can get together and exchange information and I will love to buy a set of beautiful wings or two. I am fully aware they are big.
