I’m no expert that is for sure! I was going by the cones which I show in the video, which to me identifies it as a Douglas fir. But like I said I’m not an expert and I’m always open to learn!
I don't get out much. I guess. I had never seen fir / spruce tip syrup. It must be trending right now, I just saw a ATK video about a restaurant using spruce syrup. I am really out of the loop (probably stuck in the past) !
I don’t know if it’s trending? But it’s been done for hundreds of years as far as I know… everything seems to come around again, possibly more popular these days as Scandinavian cuisine has been having its moment in recent years…
