@@tyates8156 As far as I could tell, she lives somewhere in the middle of the city (Porto) but on the top floor (?) of an old building. She has two apartments, she lived in one AND made her projects there but later she rented out the identical apartment next to hers and now lives there while working in the first one. Maybe I am wrong but I recall something like that. Hope she answers and clear it for us :D

Great job in doing the shelves, but also in your presentation and the quality of your filming and editing! 😍😍😍

A cabinet maker tip for you. If you want the ultimate smooth finish on wood get a damp cloth and dampen the wood. Leave for 5 minutes and the fibres will rise and then sand. Repeat the process 10 times with the damp cloth remembering to allow the fibres to rise for 5 minutes and sand. You will achieve a granite hardness to the surface and it will be perfectly smooth.

On the other hand, 100% of shelves by RU-vid makers are used to present two or three random decorative knick knacks, while the actual stuff you use in your life is brhind the camera.

Awesome! That trick for sharpening the jointer / thickness planer blades is pure gold! As for laser - I lately replaced mine with a Bosch green laser one. Visible even in bright sunlight!

Love the idea, but not beginner woodworking idea friendly. Too many machines not everyone has. But it’s a great idea for all those that do. 😍

It's not a tutorial plus she is a professional woodworker so the professional grade machinery and tools isn't something you will find in a beginner's workshop

You can do everything in this video with hand tools, it just takes longer. There are plenty of "hand tool only" woodworkers on RU-vid, you should check some of them out, they make things much more complicated than this, it's quite amazing the level of precision they can get with those tools.

It's been quiet on your channel for a long time, so it's nice to see a video from you again. Those floating shelves look great and fit perfectly with the style of your home. 👍 👏 I really admire your craftsmanship, and even more so because I'm so completely untalented that I can't hammer a nail into the wall without bending it. 😅 Warm greetings from deep snow-covered Germany

Use steal nails. You can't bend them. Possibly only break them if you try hammering them into clinker bricks or concrete .... Auch in Deutshland (;-)) PS- where's the snow? None where I am im Saarland.

Great job as always! I have an off-topic question that has been bugging me ever since I saw your first video which gave a hint that your workshop may be somewhere in downtown Porto at the top floor of an (seemingly) apartment building. So with your loud woodworking machinery you either have super-empathic neighbors :) or your workshop is not in a condo. Would you please clarify in this regard? Maybe a short workshop tour video in the future could cover it... Thanks and keep up the good work!

She answered this question in a Q&A video she did in 2016. She has very few neighbors and the ones she does, don't complain. The bigger issue she has is the dust. Her bed is in her shop!

I did floating 2x12 shelves, but instead of going fancy and hiding the supports I did a 2x4 lengthwise and flat against the wall, drilled into the studs. Then I just drilled the 2x12 many times into the 2x4. They're holding up nicely! To hide the 2x4 and to give it a unique look and feel I later cut a throw blanket in half, duct taped it to the top and then wrapped it around and under the bottom side of the 2x4 and stapled it in.

A brilliant idea and a really enjoyable video. I like the lack of metal hardware and a completely different take on this idea. I do wonder how much weight it would take? I think it may take quite a lot 🤔 I keep meaning to ask... you’ve got so many tools and machines. Are these in a room of your apartment? I’d really like a tour video of the machine / tool room. Thanks 🙏

Nice work, as always. Do you have a pair of winding sticks? You may find you will get a better idea of twist instead of using a long stick across the diagonal. Plus, winding sticks work on any length of material. I'm guessing you are also using the diagonal stick to show any concave or convex areas in the lumber.
