Howdy. I have built this circuit. It works. However: 1. The coil should be 100 nH or a little smaller, say 80 nH. I used 3 or 4 turns of d 1 mm copper wire wound on the thread of a M10 bolt. 2. The 22 k resistor should be a 47 k or 100 k trimmer for best regeneration setting. 3. I could pick up local stations without an antenna, but an antenna may be connected to either end of the tank. The lenght may be about 30 cm. Longer antenna may quench the oscillation. A 4,7 pF cer. cap. as antenna capacitor may decrease the loading of a longer antenna. 4. I used 2SC1687 transistors. BF199 should work too.
Howdy again. This is a regenerative slope detector. It is not a super regen. Detection happens when the antenna energy just suffices to uphold oscillation. This can be heard as the onset of hiss. Replace the 22 k resistor with a 47 k trimmer and adjust the trimmer for the hiss. Too strong regeneration means the circuit oscillates on its own. This is heard as a squeal or motorboating. Seeking stations with the var. cap. influences the regeneration. Adjust the var. cap. in small increments and peak the hiss with the 47 k trimmer.
I want some of those automatic circuit boards like yours that automatically solder the components when you flip it over like that. Can you give me the link?.......Lol
Hey! Great video, thanks for the circuit as well. I've recreated the entire circuit in the exact same manner on a breadboard but there seems to some problem. There's no white noise, nothing. I tried adjusting the collector, preset but nothing seems to work. Could anyone help me troubleshoot?
I just made it, but I can only hear back-ground noise. By the way, I use 8 ohm speaker instead of 4 ohm, and volume is very little. Does 4 ohm speaker really make difference or improvement?
Important !! At 2:50 min is the circuit to see. The illustrated circuit is wrong! The base of transistor Q2 is shorted to the collector via coil L1. so the circuit can not work
Hello, good time, this BF494 transistor can be used, that is, this BF494 transistor can be used for the radio receiver that you are taught, and it is the same.?
It works for me but I only hear various white noise, I think I heard radio stations but its extremely faint, I don't have the correct type of transistor though, also not sure where to get the type of variable capacitor you use.
Hey man great vid!!! I love DIY stuff and im 12 at the moment do I don’t know where I can go around getting all these parts :/ is there a kit where these items are provided?
hi guys, the best results that I have ever had was by following the Gregs Electro Blog (just google it) without a doubt the most useful course that I've followed.
I made this radio. I am a Sri Lankan. But I only hear the noise. I do not know how the radio broadcasts in Sri Lanka are done in India. 88-108m fm use here Can you help me fix this?
Wow you guys are lazy! Go to the 2:50 mark and take a frickin screen shot to get the whole circuit. If you can’t figure that out, you shouldn’t be attempting something like this!
There are so noise of audio section. It can't catch voice and sounds.I'm using tuning capcitor and the transistor is bf494 . I made the circuit correctly but it still catching fm noise. What is the problem sir.please tell me.
Any above collector other side of coil which is positive terminal dnt connect at collecter side as it will load the transistor 2 to 3 mts wire sufficient or else noise will be more
@excuse me Whattt ok, maybe i try it. I found this one, and tried it, and that one works perfect, i used 2n3904 in it. Ofc it needs amplifier then. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yO9iQSSKKFo.html
