Scroll down for ingredients This interesting noodle has many names to it - loh see fun, bee tai mak, rice pin noodles, silver needle noodle and even, rat noodle! These names are either descriptive of what the noodles look like or how it is made (the type of sieve which is used to push the dough through to create these short rice noodles).
Here is another video which we made without noting the exact measurements as it was meant to be "agak-agak". However, we do appreciate that some viewers wish to have a guide on how much to add in. Hence, please take note that the ingredients below are a just rough guide as we did not measure accurately while cooking. So please use your taste buds to guide you. Don't be afraid to make some adjustments to suit your preference.
Fried Loh See Fun
Serves 4-5
Loh See Fun/ Bee Tai Mak 500g
Small onions 3
Garlic 4 cloves
Sweet Chai Poh 2 tablespoons
Eggs 3, beaten
Bean Sprouts 200g
Leek 1 stalk
Kuchai/ Chinese Chives 100g
Chilli padi 2 (Optional)
Chinese mushrooms 4 pieces (pre-cooked and sliced)
Pork or Chicken 200g, sliced (marinate with a little light soy sauce, white pepper & tapioca flour)
Prawns, medium 10 (marinate with a little light soy sauce & white pepper)
Oyster sauce 1 tbsp
Black soy sauce 1 tbsp
Light soy sauce 1 tbsp
Sesame oil 1 tsp
Knorr chicken powder 1 tsp
Salt, to taste
Sugar, to taste
White pepper, to taste
Crispy lard & Lard oil 1 tbsp each (Optional)
