This science experience with making frost can be used to play up the scene of how Elsa freezes Erendell Castle. The water under the jar freezes in 5 minutes, which can't help but amaze kids.
When we added salt to the ice, it began to melt. But this process requires a very large amount of energy. And energy is taken from the environment, dramatically cooling everything around it. So, in our experiment, you could see that the ice in the jar was melting, and the jar itself was cooling to low temperatures. The temperature dropped rapidly below -20°C, causing the puddle on the board to freeze and stick the jar firmly to the board.
