Started with the “good sized heart” video, left to rewatch the preparation of wood video- now on adding glitter to grout video. Love the rabbit hole of mosaic 101. My first mosaic was a mirror heart. Second mosaic was a triptych on canvas mirror mosaic. My third and present mosaic, also mirror, is a 20” x20” compass rose. I love your keystone video too❣️ I also learned from one of your videos and used mesh this time. Not in love with mirror adhesive but what can I do 🤔 I somehow feel mirror is not as easy as other “tesserae” Hopefully I’ll complete this compass to find out. Thanks so much for all your videos.
Hi B Man! You've been busy. Nice mix of mosaic projects. I agree about mirror and mirror adhesive. It's not as 'fun' as some other tesserae but WOW! does it make a big statement. Do it for the good of the mosaic! 😂 Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!

Personally I am in awe of your organisation skills. Of course being neat and tidy enhances the experience and No doubt contributes positively to the final result but, well, definitely not there, yet. Add the mica powder into the grout sealer. Use for the last coat. Thank you for this info. Wasn’t sure how to add the glitter. Have you ever added seed beads to your grout?
Cheri! Oooohh, thanks for the tip on adding mica powder to the sealer. I'll have to try that out! I've used micro beads as grout for many years. LOVE the look and they're so much fun to work with. Is the grout you use for these projects, the same stuff that's used for bathroom floors? If not, do you think it could still be ok to use for floors and walls in a bathroom?
@@JulieWeilbacher I know you're using the grout for crafting purposes and my question is not about that, but do you know if there are any types of grout that you can put the glitter from this video in, that will stick on top of already existing grout? I would really love to put glitter grout on my bathroom floor, but I don't want to have to remove the grout that is already there. It's unsealed and I believe, unsanded. It's one inch, square shaped ceramic mosaic tiles that were installed in 1964. I've researched this and it seems my only options are either something called Grout Pen, or a type of cover up paint, called Perma Bond. Have you heard of Perma Bond? Do you think I could mix glitter into it? I know these are a lot of questions. Thank you so much for responding.
Hi Renata! Great to hear you enjoyed the video. You'll want to think about the end result. Do you want contrast or subtle? For instance, white grout with red glitter (contrast), or white grout with a pearl or white iridescent glitter (subtle)? Do you want the grout to call attention to itself, or would you rather it be 'in the background' and let your mosaic work be the focal point? Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥

You specifically say to add a spoonful and a quarter of the glitter grout additive, but don't say the exact amount of grout you put in the cup. What is the ratio you use please?
