Just like all your videos, Jake and Anna explain things MASTERFULLY and easy to follow, still my goto channel to learn how to do things on my GoPro ( and soon to be Insta360 ONE RS too). Thanks for the GREAT Content !!!.
Guys, I'm not a videographer by any means, but i've been tasked with making some videos for an amateur football team in the UK. I don't have fancy gear, but I do have an older Go Pro, an iPhone with Cinematic features and i've always had a quite creative mind. Watching through some of your videos today is already making so much sense, and the way you've explained shots and settings etc has really helped. Great vids
Love to see the behind the scenes, very inspiring 🔥Have you guys played around with the GoPro Labs firmware? It unlocks so many options to get the best quality out of the GoPro 11...it's sooo good!
Hey Alex it’s been a while since we installed gopro labs on our cameras, I think hero 9 was the last time, we haven’t been using it lately but would love to know what features you’ve found really valuable? Especially on the new hero 11
@@JakeRichandAnnaChah Oh you need to check it out then 😁 The 11 especially has some new features that don't exist for the other ones. My favorites are: 1) you can turn off the noise reduction, so when you shoot with higher iso you'll get a lot of fine grain but it retains more details, GoPro's automatic noise reduction makes everything blotchy and way too soft. You can remove the fine grain in post and you are left with a much cleaner and usable image. Game changer! 😍 2) You can up the bit-rate up to 200mbs, it really does help when color grading🔥3) You can make custom log curves and get a wider gamut of color and dynamic range. I haven't tried those yet cause it gives you a super flat image and it's extra color grading work but i can imagine that these features would be great for cinematic work. I'm definitely gonna start playing with those soon😉 I really love where GoPro Labs is going with these new features, making that little camera even better for the advanced users.
Very informative. Thank you. Some time ago I changed gopro7 to gopro 11. I shoot a lot but don't like editing) I wish neural networks would learn how to do it efficiently. All the best :)
Hey Jake and Anna! You shoot in 5.3k and export them to 4k? By doing so do you loose quality in the footage? Ive been doing 5.3k for my vlogs, but find my system struggles to export in 5.3k compared to 4k render.
Looking to start making music videos for songs I wrote. I have no experience at filming. Going to follow you guys to know what to buy and how to use it. keep up the great work.
Olá diretamente do Brasil🇧🇷 Amei o vídeo, muito fácil de entender. Comprei uma Gopro hero 11 recentemente e estou aprendendo como usar ela de uma forma mais cinemática. Obrigada pelo conteúdo.🤩
Hello there. Very nice video and final result. Just a little correction there about motion blur. The frame rate does not give you the motion blur. It has nothing to do with it. The motion blur comes from the shutter speed. So if you want to follow the 180 rule, you generally need to double the shutter speed of your frame rate to have the desirable effect. Frame rate is how many frames are in each second. But shutter speed, is for how long, each frame, gets recorded. So if you have a frame rate of 25, but a shutter speed of 1/1000 or auto, then each frame is get recorded for 1/1000 of a second, so if you pause any frame, it will be very sharp, without motion blur. But if you choose let's say for 25fps, 1/50th of shutter speed, then if you pause its frame, it will have motion blur. If you don't do that, you may have the opposite effect, where you have a slow frame, but each frame is very sharp, without motion, so you have a somewhat jerky shot. That's why many people use ND filters. Because Gopro, in sunny conditions, cannot go to such low shutter speeds, cause it will be way overexposed. So you need an ND filter so you can have a more suitable shutter speed for your shot. I hope that helps. Keep up the good work, and have fun!
This is a really great share! Thanks for taking the time to comment such valuable insights, we’re definitely still learning as we go and appreciate your time in helping make these videos better💫🙏🏽 legend!
Love ur videos you have helped me on my RU-vid travel videos journey. But every time I watch a vid I think to myself … I know so little when it comes to filming and cameras 😂
Hey Jake! Always as inspiring as ever! Thanks for this video. Question: When you say shooting in 100 FPS or 50, or do you do so? I only have access to 60 and 120. Cheers.
Ill watch my favourite movie James bond movie 5 part Daniel Craig forever King mass Hero. Climax mad cry super England British. Love from Chennai India.
Hello ! Iv'e check in the description but I'm not sure to find the answer. In this video with eh GoPro 11, what do yo use for sound ? In the begining of the video, it seems you have a micro in your pocket (shirt's pocket 00:35) but in the description you talk about the Mod of Go Pro. Do you use an extra mic for the sound ? (for the 35 first second, when you talk)
Guys your Luminar NEO link seems to be not working... it shows this message "The link you clicked on is malformed. Contact the editor of the originating page." cheers!
Do you need a gimbal for creative shots? During mid-day a shutter speed of 1/48 will require an ND filter and I heard/seen action camera image stablization does not work well on low fps; thus needing a gimbal to stabalize.
Hi Jake and Anna! Thanks for your inspiring content. I would like to know which software to use to export a 5.3K file from gopro? All i see is 4k output. Please suggest the software that can utilize and render a 5k output.
Are you leaving the shutter on auto? I heard it had to be double the frame rate. I've just finished my honeymoon video, and I had what I thought was the right settings but the footage is a bit too blurry when I pan with the camera..?
I am almost skeptical the background sky was so blown out that the clouds were there all along. It almost looks like sky replacement. I know a person can recover some information but... still... if it was sky replacement then it is misleading in a sense what happened. But if the clouds were all there to begin with then I am amazed. not sure what to believe.
