My secret for it to be strong is brew it on traveler directly in a traveler size cup (no ice), when it’s finished let it sit for a few minutes and then add milk and ice. Your method really waters down the coffee because the ice melts

That's what's supposed to happen, if you set it to brew 8oz for example, it will brew about 4oz of coffee and the ice melting should dilute the coffee to the correct flavour, search japanese ice coffee, same technique.

I used to work at a coffee house. When I make iced coffee, I will put double the amount of coffee grinds into the filter. For example, if you want to use half a pot of water, then you’re going to put enough coffee as if you were gonna brew a full pot. That will eliminate the watering down the ice does.

This machine takes that into account though. Use it as it says because it’s taken all the guess work out. The over ice brew is going to be stronger so when then ice melts it’s still how it should be.

@@hillsturrrYes, it brews it stronger but it also cuts the quantity in half. And because the ice doesn't sufficiently cool off the coffee, it ends up even more diluted. I think joanne's method would counteract that.

i looove this machine! I just got it last night and made some hot coffee this morning. I think I'll make some coffee ice cubes to put in the iced coffee tomorrow so it keeps it nice and strong! I'm thinking of making a big batch of iced coffee and refrigerating it in a carafe for the week.

I have the 301 and made over ice this morning. I filled the line to half carafe and it didnt even use half if the water in the resivoir. Is that normal?

yes over ice uses about 1/2 the normal amount of water, it assumes the hot coffee will melt the ice in the carafe and dilute it to the proper strength

Does anyone know why my new ninja specialty coffee maker does not make four ounces on the specialty program? Sometimes it will make the 4 ounces and other times it will make like a large cup. Is there a setting?

I have this same maker and how come when I open the latch where the grounds go into, the filter has a lot of grounds left over stuck together after I make the coffee.. help? Lol

Maybe a little but you can always add more ground coffee to make it stronger when the ice melts.

Don’t remove the ice if you are brewing over ice. You’ll have a reaaally strong brew. The ice is needed for the over ice brew to dilute the super strong brew it makes on this setting 😊

Im sorry but this is one of the dumbest things ive ever seen. Whats the point of the iced coffee function if it just functions like a normal $15 drip coffee maker….but slower? And then the end product is just watered down luke warm coffee? Ya’ll be just throwing away money while making this process more complicated than a cheap $15 drip coffee maker.
