What do they call Jamaican pumpkin in the states?

I have seen so many names but one of the popular ones I have seen a lot is Calabaza Squash. I used to live in queens,NY years ago and they mainly sell Calabaza Squash and honestly I think the texture is different from Pumpkin. It don’t always break down fully and give the nice yellow color that your soup needs but can still be used as a last resort. I advise if you are able to get to a Caribbean Farmers market, then get it from there. You are guaranteed to find Pumpkins there. I hope this helps 😊

Hi friend this wooden spoon is from the Ayesha Curry cooking line (purchased from Macy’s) and I LOVE it. I have had it for over 1 year and 0 stains except when used in curry!
