For those who're interested in what I'm eating with... It's just thinly sliced beef that is simply cooked with my Teppanyaki/Yakiniku Sauce (Recipe: www.justonecookbook.com/teppanyaki/).
Its always interesting to see how different people wash their rice. Since rice is eaten on almost every continent, its something every culture does differently
We don’t wash rice in Spain, only when we try to cook ‘exotic’ food like this one great recipe. Looks so yummy! 😀 (Please understand that for us, this is exotic)
I just want to thank you for having these recipes out here! I love making omurice and i kinda want to make this! So thank you for having these here for us :)
One of my favorite sick/comfort foods has always been rice and creamed corn with soy sauce and butter. Other than the "creamed" part this is really similar to what I've eated before. I am excited to try this recipe. I saw the video and I yelled "see!! I'm not weird" to my fiancé who had never had corn and rice together before. Thank you for this video. Every one is calming, aesthetically pleasing, and so easy to follow.
Aww yes, you're not weird! It's a very common summer recipe in Japan when corn is in season. Natural sweet corn shines through the simple rice. And butter shoyu (soy sauce) is a common seasoning for corn and many other recipes in Japan. Happy cooking! 🤗❤️
I'm growing my own sweet corn this year and once it's ripe I'll definitely try your recipe. quick question: do you cook the cobs with the rice for flavor? and than throw them away?
Omg this is such a funny coincidence, I was just thinking about what I wanted for dinner tonight. I knew I had rice and corn in my pantry, but I wasn’t sure if I could make a dish from them. So thanks for the inspiration! 🍚🌽
oooh that rice water looks so nice 🙏🙏 (i mean the translucent starchy one before water for rice became clear) my mom taught me tht before she was introduced to cosmetics, ricewater was used to cleanse the face. it was the same case for all the villagers at that time haha
I am definitely gonna make this. They had a something very similar in the bento section of the Aeon near where I lived and it was one of the best things I found in Japan. The only difference is there was little bits of pork mixed in the rice and a sprinkle of nori on top. Thank you for the recipe!
Yum looks delicious i am making this soon can i use alcohol free sake as i dont drink alcohol at home i never had japanese corn rice before perfect for my after office meals also Thanks for uploading this on time before i go to sleep as am in Singapore love your recipes making me hungry Thanks Ramya
WOW! I didn't even know that this combination could be a meal! And I use these ingredients most days! I shall definitely try this one. Thank you again, Nami! Oh by the way. Does the sliced beef cooked with Teppanyaki/Yakiniku Sauce compliment the flavor of the corn rice or was did you just add it as an additional item to the meal?
Sorry Maria! We decided to skip intro and ending as analytics says majority of people were not watching. 😞 So we decided to spend the time for making more video recipes and we have been able to upload one video a week because of that. 🙏🏼 I’m so sorry to disappoint you… hope more recipes will bring joy too…
