Apparently if you have constraint based sketching enabled it won't create patterns, should have expected dumb stuff like this from free software but I appreciate free so carry on lol.

Yes, we can adjust the pitch by clicking and typing in the number that you want (in mm) in the options box of revolve helix. This option box is shown at about 5:28 up to 5:42 in this video (after clicking the "Revolve Helix" but before clicking one of the triangle to make the knurling cut ). Hope this will help :)
