The type of fish used in the video is Mullet. But usually to make this type of laab lao people use "Dace" Most chinese super markets sell dace fish in paste form already which is helpful. Be aware that fish used in this type of laab has a lot of bones so the process of finely mincing the meat into a paste breaks down all the bones. A good fish to substitute with is trout.
