I had the same problem, I read a lot of Google about "why is my pound cake sinking" I bought an oven thermometer. I only cook any pound @ 315 and 325, or cold oven.I mostly use cake flour, King Arthur. I never beat my eggs with a wire whisk. I only beat my eggs until they disappear. No more then 15 to 30 seconds each. Too much moisture or not enough. I have just started to use two sticks of challenge butter and a half of cup European butter, I buy @ Krogers. I do not cook anything else when I making a cake. I have all my ingredients ready. I just made a lemon pound cake. The best one yet. You encourage me to do better. Thank You, Jennifer

When I make my pound cake I put my mixture on medium speed. If you beat at a high speed it will beat up the gluten. That will make it heavy.

Hey, Patricia...it was very light...not as dense as a pound cake should be, however, it was delicious. Thanks for your comment and I will be sure to show the inside from here on out.

@@gardenrooms3667 I love using self-raising flour I really don't care to much of All-purpose Flour, but I do make my cakes with All-purpose Flour, I love my salt butter, and that Lilly flour is the bomb L.o.L I love it and my aunt introduce me to Goldmedal Flour it's soft like Lilly flour the biscuit be so Soft so I Love those Self-raising flour, I had to learn to my Cakes as well sometimes it's be good in sometime it's be Dry, believe I'm learning, even the professional they Mess up sometime in people's who bake or Cook foods they are not perfect, so people's sure not critize no one cooking because they don't gets it's right all the times, no one perfect in that's including there foods I'm sorry to say But you will get the self-raising cakes down pack in the Holy spirit going to Teacher u so God bless u and your Family's, and I'm going to keep watching u made your Desserts out of Self-raising Flour because it's going to Help me Love you my Sister but Jesus Love you More Be safe❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I think the cake is beautiful, remember everyone oven is different..sometimes it could be where you place your cake in the oven and also the temperature of the oven. I will love for you to do a video on your biscuits...I will like to know where you purchased the iron pot you used to bake your ham...everything looks really delicious thxs for the video.

Again it's not the self-rising flour that's making it sink in the middle you need to use your regular oven not there not the oven on top of your stove use your big oven not the self-rising flour because I use self-rising flour all the time to make my cakes regular cakes pound cakes biscuits cobblers and they all rise up perfectly so it's not the self-rising flour you need to use your big oven that is not the problem the oven above yourself using the oven above your stove that is the problem got to use your big oven I guarantee your cake will rise and it will not fall in the middle take it from someone that breaks all the time with self-rising flour

Beat the butter and sugar at least 10 minutes. White Lily is soft winter wheat that's what makes it fluffy. Add i egg at a time makes no difference if its self-rising flour your oven is not hot enough if its falling. Dont peek at it lol leave it alone for at least an hour on at least 325 or 350

3 sticks of Butter, 8 oz of cream cheese. This should fix it.

As I was watching you, I thought, whynot use 2 cups of self rising and 1 cup of plain? I'm gonna try it and see.

The pan might be too big for the batter. Try 12 cups pan.

This cook looks good. The only thing you should have changed is not cook it on convection. Your experiment was a success.

Why does my pound cake gets dark on the outside of the pan
@AuLily1
@AuLily1 2 месяца назад
Not sure what you're asking, but I'll try. The sugar in the batter caramelizes where it touches your pan sides as it bakes. Depending on your bundt pan, you might need to decrease your temperature if it's getting too dark, too soon.
@gardenrooms3667
