Wow!! I am familiar w/ theory, but man, you are quick. Often it seems, art forms have "tools of creativity." Tools professionals and academics have identified as part of the craft. The non-educated, at-home, on the street musician just does what they think they see or hear... often stumbling upon techniques used by pros as well. BUT, they don't konw they're using them. Knowing I can throw in a "counter melody" because something is still "missing." THAT tool.. counter melody. That is an identified tool for creating and realizing I was missing that at times.. while other times I created them but didn't know they were called that. Either way, it makes the process of music creation more concrete and repeatable... though not stale or non-creative. A carpenter doesn't blindly reach in a tool box for a hammer to pound in a "long pointy thing." Finally, to add to the above.... On the grid off the grid... where did you learn that?.. where you trained musically somewhere along the line? Thanks so much for this channel!
If you're using fl they have all the scales on there you can just drag into your piano roll, im guessing dude just had them in a tab on the side already.
