Shit is loooong journey, I've dropped 11 albums in 2 and half years. Doing all of my writing, engineering, recording, and 90percent of my beats........it definitely takes luck, finally got an email about a publishing deal, but still it's almost like there are some many damn road blocks, all the WRONG rappers have the position the real musically incline artists and producers should have, in my opinion

Well that is the truth tbh. I am not a pro but I just do music for fun, and as I get way better on my craft, the social media numbers just increase a lot without me even trying. Focus on the quality of music first, talk about the advertising techniques etc later.

You need better quality sound. And try to flow with the beat a little more. It's gotta be somethin that instantly hooks people whether its because of the lyrics or just the sound.
bro no, I stop making music in 2004 after 25 albums 6 DVDs and 2 major label signings... I make over 50 k a year from digital. if you love yourself, make them pay something. And own your masters for that now and later money
Im not knocking the advice, but plenty of people make money off if really terrible music. Suggesting that the reason a person isnt making money off of music is due to its quality doesnt seem to satisfy the question. This doesnt apply to me at all. Im just thinking that if lil savage sounding terrible can make money then a person semi decent should be able to do a bit better for themselves regardless.

Kato On The Track i can understand that but making a large amount of money and making good music are not the same thing. Even though i may think a song is bad and not prefer it, if someone else thinks its good and prefers it that doesnt make it good. In the same way even if the majority share that view that doesnt make it right. I think youre great and i thoroughly enjoy listening to most of the music youve produced (ive found a few "eh" songs but not many). Thank you for replying thats really cool. Theres definitely a way to sell your music no matter the quality and i think most people are looking for that answer; eg make it as addictive as drugs regardless of quality. Thats obviously not how to become a professional but it works for many to immediately make money. Telling someone to make a hit is different than suggesting that they take ten songs put it on a cd and go door to door making sales. Plenty of conversation in which case you can easily just say im wrong and youre a multi millionaire that knows what youre talking about. Im not knocking what youre saying, i think that as a successful person you might lend more practical advice to such a question. Im not trying to beef with kato or his team lord only knows. Im 12 and this is good start video. Im a begginer but i didnt get my style yet. I know how to produce trap beats and some things. But i do not have a studio and nothing much. It would be easier when i have one.

I think music is a 'learning' rather than an 'earning'....since the access to any kind of music is much easier than before.. No matter who you are, your music was influenced by some artists whom probably you would not recognize since you have listened limitless songs in your life already. It depends on your talent,awareness,and sensitivity into music to see if you can create a spark out of the industry. Until today I always think that Talent makes something, it's not different from the era when Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven live.

But same time I just don't wan't people to steal my music and i've been keeping my music to myself for about 3 months now and hesitating to publish for copyright reasons. Any place for me to upload and grow without people stealing my music?
That is true but in order to do that you have to spend boo coos of money on owning a beat mainly in order to distribute it with a company. You can lease but it only last for so long say 2500 yeah guess after that you can buy the beat only if it is not already sold. Artist's make sure you find the right distribution.

Hello I read your licensing agreement and I'm interested to know why you don't let artists monetize their youtube videos if they leased your beat, wrote a song to it and uploaded it to youtube.
If you want to make money with art, in general, you have to create commercial art. You'll start making money with music when you understand this is business + All the advice given in this video.
so the main confusing part to me is in the placement part. like who would be paying for my 50% of the song the artist themselves or does the stream automatically split the payment towards the artist and producer? like how can i make sure that im garaunteeded the money?

Some people dont need to put in 10,000 hours, but if you are willing to then youll be successful as opposed to believing its a myth because 10,000 hours seems way to long a time and you want your money now. Thats not dedication thats laziness. If you keep putting in hours and keep dedicating to be better the money will come. Correcting isnt disrespecting and its funny becaise Bruce Lee once said "If you correct a foolish man, he'll hate you for it. You correct a wise man, he'll thank you for it" so this shows which one you are.
Real shit bro this is not something I've wanted to do only for the last two yrs & it's a talent I'm straight in control of. My axiaty keeps making me chase this & I have a whole different skill set.
