What do you think? Is the money worth the time and effort?

What about insurance costs? What if you damaged something on someone property, crack concrete crossing a driveway, sidewalk? What if you break something on a sewer drain field, hit a well pipe. I would think its pretty risky not being insured, your thoughts?

Wow, I didn’t even think about insurance, I mean I know you need it, it’s a must. Wish I would have thought of that when doing all my math…

These are all great numbers!! I saw someone else mentioned the insurance, which is very much something to consider. If you were to go legit, you'd also need to factor in sales tax at the end and account for taxes at the end of the year. (Both would be best to pay quarterly) If you're doing this as a side hustle, away from Uncle Sam, dont worry about insurance or tax. New customers just need to know that you are not insured and run cash only. But keep an envelope for your gas and maintenance fee. As long as customers know you're not insured, no one can get mad. Expectations are key!

Uncle Sam already takes enough of my money, as far as he knows I don’t even know how to roll a lawn.

Hi I’m from UK. It looks like a road roller, I’m guessing without vibration turned on. It’s not a thing over here.

Depends how rough it is, in the bad spots I would use the vibration.

I like the big stack on that roller! The custom hood is also awesome 😎

The factory plastic hood on it melted from The engine heat, that’s why he has the custom stainless one!

Well, in my opinion, Elliot, renting would be a better option. Unless you can pick up several dozen steady customers. I don’t think you would have a problem of accessibility to rent a roller because it’s basically a blacktop roller. And if you do purchase one, God forbid Elliot something was to happen and you got hurt or sick and you could not accommodate your customers then you are also stuck with that monthly payment. Just saying

Renting is definitely the safer less “risk” option, and given my current situation in life with a small kid at home, renting would probably be the move because I can’t be out rolling lawns every day I’m not at my real job

Sounds good but you have to find people that want that service and pay what your asking.

It’s certainly a seasonal job, as people only get it done in the spring, but it’s very popular around here. You would have no shortage of jobs to do
