@@LaserAndLearn Thanks! And do you finish the project with anything or just use the plywood as it (both names and backing). Sorry for questions I am a beginner
Bless you!!! Thank you for this video. I appreciate all the details you have provided, especially including all the materials that you have used. I will be receiving my laser soon. I look forward to being able to make signs like this. 😊
Amazing video thank you! What are you using for the backing it's super nice, walnut plywood? Or birch plywood you stain for example? Or a pine board you stained? So many ideas.
I typically use 1/4 inch mdf plywood. Redoak I stain or sometimes use walnut. I have a different video on where I get my wood if you want to check it out
Is there a difference between Oh Juliya and Oh Juliya updated? Google didn't find an updated version. First time I've watched you. Great information thanks for sharing.
@@LaserAndLearn I recently downloaded the regular Oh Juliya after watching this video and I cant find any of those tail characters that you have in your CharMap in my CharMap...so I think there must be a difference
I just found your videos. And oh my goodness. Su CB a great job!! If there’s too much taking I usually tune out. Lol. Does a compressor really make a difference? I have a Mira 7 (about 3 months) and I get a lot of that charring. I could also be my settings. Still a lot to learn. Thank you again!!
Excellent video on making a beautiful sign. I am just learning laser engraving. You said your material is pre-finished so you don't have to mask it. What is the pre-finish and does it come like that or do you apply it. Also what is wood you use for the background. Thankyou very much.
Great question! I buy that wood prefinished but you can also use a lacquer to come off clean too like what I used for the backing board. The most common woods I use for the backing are stained red oak or walnut. Thanks for watching!
Just found your channel. Love your explanations! Keep making these types of videos. I just ordered a monport 60 watt CO2. How many watts is your laser? I’ve had an xtool diode for about 8 months. I love Smokey hills patternply.
My glowforge is 40 watts and my mira ( in this video) is 90 watts. 60 watts is a great laser too! Can do up to half inch I'm sure at the right speed. I LOVE smokey hill. Use their material all the time
So designing was 5 minutes, engraving was about 15, staining and assembling was probably 10 or so, so maybe 30 minutes to make the sign. I have charged anywhere from $30-$50 for a 19x6 sign
Hey! I use 1/4 inch walnut or stained red oak from smokey hill laser designs mostly. For the top I use 1/8 inch or 1/4 inch maple. I use mdf plywood with the veneers of those.
I have a windows so I just typed it into my search bar on the main page of my computer and was able to find it. Then just change it to the font you want
Lol, I have a ring light that I used at time, but definitely doesn't work for all circumstances. Been looking at others, but good ones are expensive! Soon!
@@LaserAndLearn yeah it’s like 280$ for 12” x 180’. I really wanted to try the stuff. I may just add on a couple bucks to the price. Glueing is becoming such a pain
