Whether you like deep cleansing or gentle washes - these shampoo recipes are the perfect addition to your natural hair routine! Full recipes here 😊 wholeelise.com/blog/how-to-make-natural-shampoo/
I love the way you are clearly talking to us not dictating, you explain the science without talking above us. You can tell us how to do it in a friendly way without being guttural. There is a gentle kindness and caring in your manner of speech with a total absence of arrogance that is very refreshing (qualities that are very lacking in other DIY soap videos). Since you don't have any products for sale on your website, including the ingrediencies for the various recipes, I can only guess that your income is derived from your RU-vid channel. So just to do my part, I subscribed. This is the only channel I have done that with. The best part of your videos is the fact that you don't nag at us to do so. Thank you
Dude, i was looking for a natural shampoo recipe for days now! Thank you SO much, you literally opened my eyes as to how to make my own natural cosmetics!! You are the best!!
I was just introduced to the importance of PH in hair care and it's very surprising the amount of shampoos in the market with the wrong ph! So I'm very pleased with how detailed you go by this process. I don't think natural is necessarily better but when you go with the science as well and take so much care with every step? My mind is blown. You are amazing! Thank you!
omg your channel is inspiring me to make my entire lifestyle diy it’s such a reassuring feeling to physically see and know everything going into what you use
You are absolutely correct in testing the shampoo on your hands first. I purchased a DIY shampoo on Etsy and used the same method. It dried my hands out so I assumed it was “doing it’s job”. Big mistake. That was before watching this video of course. After washing my hair with the product, it took 2 months of DC and a protein treatment to get my hair back to normal. Knowledge and common sense is power.
It would be amazing if you could make antibacterial and anti fungal cleansers for the body and even surface/fabric cleaners! So happy to have found your channel
I probably won’t make shampoo by myself but I enjoyed the video so much, the voice is so relaxing and everything is so beautiful ❤️. So professional! Congratulations
Hi, I truly love your videos. I have been suffering with dandruff ever since I can remember. I used to use head and shoulder shampoo which is now been discontinued. Can you create a video for a natural-ish dandruff shampoo please? I have a feeling many are interested x
Have you tried using shampoo less? Many people don't actually have dandruff, just dry scalps from overwashing, leading to skin flaking off. However from how it sounds in your case you might have true dandruff
Where have you been all my natural hair journey. You are such a blessing,me finding your page is God's answer to my problems literally.thank you so much for sharing
I just tried the clarifying one today and I love how gentle it was even though it’s a clarifying recipe! Next time I’ll make it less thick lol that Xanthan gum is no joke! Lol Thank you so much WholeElise!!!
I’m thinking hard on starting my own hair care line. I love hair oh so much this gives me motivation. I haven’t been able to do hair as a licensed cosmetologist because of an health issue. But why not make great product for them who can’t sometimes make it to a salon. Thank you
I admire all of the passion and diligence; I have just truly begun, and I’m so happy to have found you. Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful presence and understanding ✨❤️
Eye am so glad eye found your channel. Definitely was looking for a WOC that I can relate to while I learn about skincare and becoming an entrepreneur.🥰❤️
Elise you are an incredible person. I am astounded by your breadth of knowledge, professionalism and clarity. Love your humour too. You are brilliant! Well done and thank you. You have and are helping me so much.
This is incredible! Thank your sharing tour scientific knowledge and recipes with us 🙌🏾! Would definitely love an ayurvedic/hair growth promoting version of this shampoo!
Thanks again Elise for awesome channel! I tried your shampoo recipes. However I got really itchy when using it. I found out that some people are allergic to Cocamidopropyl Betaine. I will try again with the adjustment of Cocamidopropyl Betaine. I truly appreciate your sharing!! You have such a big heart ❤️
Wow, first, your voice is so incredibly calming! And you're so BEAUTIFUL!! Second, I wasn't expecting this to be so scientific?? This was a wonderful tutorial, and was incredibly satisfying to watch! You have a new sub!
Thank you Elise you do an amazing job, I love your creativity and warm personality. I will gather some supplies to try this formulation. Please make a shampoo and conditioner bar for 4 c hair please and thank you 🙏🏾
Hi, this is the first video of yours that I am watching. I want to congratulate you, the quality of the video, the clarity of the explanation and the choice of ingredients is TOP. I am really glat I "met" you. Your channel will become a reference for me going forward.
Just a warning! The shampoo works GREAT! But if you sub the hydrosol with water or Aloe Vera Juice, have a backup plan to cover up the scent of the massive amount of glucoside! Lol. Hydrosols work great at covering up the scent though. So I suggest sticking to using a hydrosol OR a fragrance/Essential oil to work into the formulation! Happy making! 😁
It would be the easiest for a beginner to stick to it, yes. However, if someone wanted to use water or aloe vera juice instead of a hydrosol, then it would be best (in terms of scent) to add a fragrance or essential oil at about .5-1% following the guidelines for that product and just subtract that .5 or 1% from the water phase. Hope that helps 😁
Thank you so much for these great recipes and the detailed DIY instructions. In your videos you sometimes point out which ingredients are particularly beneficial for Afrohair. Would it be possible to point out where differences between the hair types require special attention in terms of ingredients?
For the section of the conditioning shampoo where you added in the coconut oil, you said we could add in which ever oil happened to be most moisturizing for our hair in particular. Would I also be able to trade in the coconut oil for the addition of a butter, such as like mango butter, or would you solely recommend utilizing an oil for that step? Thank you!
Thank you so much for your channel and your website you make everything so simple straight forward and to the point. But still very interesting! Keep all the content coming and when you make all these for sale I'll be in the line !! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 thank you so much for the education!
Elise, this was so, eye opening! I make shampoo disks with surfactants, but I have some customers who bulk at the idea! This tutorial gave me a boost to get into the studio and create some bottled shampoo. Let you know when and how it is received by my customers! Jill Gross
Do you have substitutes for the Decyl glucose and cocomadopropyl betaine? These are coconut oil derivatives, so they are significantly drying to my hair. Thank you!
Hi and thank you so much for your excellent recipes! I' m having a problem in the conditioning shampoo. I tried twice making it, following your instructions in detail, but after almost a week both my shampoos get separated, leaving water down and oils up, as if I didn't heat it. Do you have any idea why is this happening? Thank you in advance!
Sounds like an 'emulsifying mishap". Oil and water not mixing. You want to get your oil amount, the btms and thickener correct. Thats where the problem is coming from.
I really enjoyed watching this video , it wasn't even what I was looking for the algorithms recommended it. However I am really impressed by your knowledge of your craft, the video quality and all in all professionalism that you have shown. I wish you achieve your goal ❤️
Decyl glucoside can have a strong scent, so I'd recommend replacing more of the water with floral hydrosols to make it less noticeable. I hope that helps 😊
Wow this video is awesome. I see some ingredients to add to my clay washes. The Ayurvedic herbs I use really strengthen my hair, define my curls and reduce the amount my hair sheds.
Wow! Thank you for your video! The best is homemade, from scratch without harsh chemicals! I will want to try to make the clarifying and conditioning shampoo soon!
New sub. Glad to come across a channel with real formulas 👏👏 can you please provide the percentages instead of the grams so we can test the formula in tiny batches. Ty!
Good Morning Ms. WholeElise I was wondering would you kindly make a video on a hair butter for ladies who has course and kinky hair. Made of shea butter and other ingredients for moisture and hydration Your time is very appreciated Thank you Kinky girl.
This is great! These are the facts I was looking for. Big question is how do I turn this into a solid for camping use? Adding it to any home made soap is an easy answer, but can it be done without lye?
Now after watching a few of your other videos it looks like I can add some butters and waxes to any recipe of liquid shampoo to turn it into a solid, right?
I really love your passion and knowledge! I have curly hair and can't find good hair products for my hair. I'm also a student and the products that seem to be good, I just can't afford. I would therefore love to try your recipes. I was wondering where you buy your ingredients though? Love from Sweden!
I made some, and it smells like chemicals... is it because of the surfactants i used ( decylglucoside and coco betaine) , or am I doing something wrong. I did use the essential oils ( the store bought, doesn't)
Hello Elise I finally found a channel I can embrace!! Where have you been? Elise I have a question where did you learn your Natural Products formulation? I am really interested!! thank you.
Hello mam.. glad to see your video. I did the conditioning shampoo, as u did. But it foams very less and after few days, shampoo is getting separated... where I went wrong I don't know.. kindly help
Thank you for sharing a project that must have been such hard work to accomplish! I wanted shampoo to be a project I try soon, so I might try these out. What about your pH balanced black soap shampoo recipe? Do you still use it from time to time? Does your hair still like it?
Yes I do - especially when I want to "revive" or focus on the health of my hair. Black soap has a lot of nutrients that surfactants and other cleansers don't so I like to use it routinely. However, for my regular washes, I like to use milder surfactants that give me more control, as soaps are generally harsher on your hair. Hope that helps and thanks for watching 😊
