This was my childhood street foods HOW TO MAKE NOM CHOUNG CHROK or NOM KOMPONG ( DEEP FRY CANNED CAKE RECIPE that my mom made in the refugee camp in Khao I Dang , Thailand camp 🏕 You can eat this by itself, or dip with sweet sour sauce with varieties of fresh herbs 🌿 or eat with rice porridge as a meat protein for your meals etc..! I love ❤️ this delicious mouthwatering crunchy crispy cake
INGREDIENTS LIST : រូបមន្តគ្រឿងផ្សំ ⬇️
⬇️➡️
1-1/2 + lbs of ground pork or package from the store
2 -1/2 bags 16oz per bag of rice flour ( from Asian markets) or 8-1/2 cup of rice flour
Up to 5 cups water * adjusted as you go !!!
3 cups coconut milk
1/4 cup fish sauce
3 tbsp of sugar
1 tbsp black molasses
2 tbsp thick sweet soy sauce
1-1/2 tbsp of sea salt
2 bags of mung bean ( roasted bring to boil for 20 minutes)
2 whole medium onions ( chopped )
3 whole shallots ( chopped )
1 cup of peeled garlic cloves ( chopped)
1/2 cup of fish sauce ( optional )
2 bags chicken bouillon
1 tsp MSG is optional
2 tbsp black pepper
1 bunched or 1 cup green onion
1 whole jicama ( chopped)
1-1/2 lbs of ground pork ( everyday seasoning or salt, sugar and soy sauce)
1/2 lbs of small shrimp is optional
2 tbsp baking powder
2 lbs of prawns 🍤 for top on to the crunchy cake is optional
8 cups of peanut oils or any deep Fry oil
1 large cooking fry pot and of course 5 + ladles for cake molding shapes. Adjusted the taste as you go for your own flavored. Serving 20+
