These were the best cookies I've ever had, maybe ever! My husband who does not like oatmeal, loved them (and kids too!)! After trying your recipes three times I can honestly say I'll never try anybody else's baking recipes! I've been looking for reliable baking recipes for years on youtube, and everything I make that you create is AWESOME! Thanks for freely sharing your gifts and talents with us, its a gift to us all
Hey Sam I just baked these 2 hrs ago. I gave a few to my neighbors :D. I even had my mom try one but when she bit into it she thought he was underbaked because of the melted chocolate in the middle 🤣 Still thank you for posting
Hello Sam! New subscriber here. I just wanna say thank you so much for being so generous about your recipe. Not to mention that you leave the measurements on the description box. So excited to try them all! More power and God bless you and your show always! 🤗❤️🥳
Just baked these cookies and they were SO GOOD! loved the secret ingredient -- really made it extra chewy. Thank you for this!! I don't bake at all, this was easy to follow :)
These cookies are so delicious 😋 I knew they were gonna be fantastic when I tasted the dough 🤤 I had to make a couple adjustments, but they are still incredible! Thank you for sharing with us 🙏🏼❤️
I've started baking since quarantining, and THIS recipe is the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookie I've found on RU-vid! My family loves them so much! I sometimes modify it by also adding chopped walnuts and it also tastes great!
I've tried a BUNCH of your cookie recipes, and these might just be my FAVORITE. My taste-testers agree. Except, I think they're best with raisins instead of chocolate chips. But we've found 1.5 cups of raisins has a better cookie-to-raisin ratio than 2 cups. Even with chocolate chips, these are still FIRE. Going to try a hybrid chocolate chip/raisin version next time. Such a killer base cookie recipe. Always keep coming back to your channel. You're the best! RU-vid needs to give you more love and exposure!!!
Thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed these cookies so much. They are definitely one of my favorites, although I am not a big fan of raisins so I'd have to pass on that part. Happy Baking! :)
Really easy recipe to follow! I've tried this myself and here are some of my thoughts: • Instead of 3 cups of old fashion rolled oats, I did 2 cups because after 2 cups I've noticed there was a LOT of oats and I didn't think the 3rd cup was necessary -- but this is totally a personal preference! • I also added a bit less salt than what was stated, but that's also because I prefer it that way Overall, an amazing recipe! It was so soft and chewy, my whole family loved it! It makes a LOT of cookies as well :)
This is by far the best, I’ve tried so many recipes from RU-vid, I guess this one is to keep forever now. Followed the recipe as is. For me the proportion of flour and oatmeal are perfect.
These cookies are really, really good. I looked all over RU-vid for the "best" oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe and I think I found it here. I followed the recipe to the letter but used a type of chocolate chips that are 50% chips and 50% chunks. The batter is very, very stiff especially after a 30 minute stay in the refridgerator. I accordingly extended the bake time to around 18 minutes at 350 which resulted in a very "gnarly" yet very delicious cookie of about 2 3/4" wide by 1" high. I love the abdundance of hardy old fashioned rolled oats balanced with some real "in your face" chocolatiness. The cinnamon and maple syrup are very interesting additions as well. Thanks for sharing!
I tried this last night and it didn't come out so well so I decided to look up a youtube recipe. Your use of the egg and properly sized dough balls are what made them taste incredible. Thanks!
Hello, I’ve just been searching for an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe and this one just looks ideal. We are baking for the annual Macmillan fund raiser (for cancer charities, tea and cake etc) and I wanted something different from a cake, so I am hoping these cookies will be popular. I plan to use oat flour as I have to be gluten free, so here goes …… 🍪 🇬🇧 Thank you for the recipe!
One of my all-time favorite cookie recipes. They're great with chocolate chips, but this recipe makes for a KILLER oatmeal raisin cookie using 1.5 cups of raisins. OMG. And can be taken to the next level by drizzling with a basic powdered sugar/milk/vanilla glaze for a decadent treat.
I did not have old fashioned oats so instead of using half cup of white sugar I used quarter and then used 7 individual packets of maple brown instant oats, everything else was as in the recipe. It came out awesome! Thank you!
Hi, Sam:It is great the way you break your recipes down to make them as easy for one to make as it's possible to do...you have a real talent and it is much appreciated....I am not kidding when I say I now make a batch of your brown butter chocolate chip cookies on a regular basis...I have just finished getting the ingredients together to make this one and I have no doubt it will be another winner! I made a special trip to get the old fashioned Oats... not something I would normally have on hand,,..but I am sure that I will now.
I found this channel from your blog and might I just say I love your recipes. I tried the pizza dough recipe on your blog twice and made the best pizza ever and trust me I'm not the best cook as yet but your recipe was amazing.
I wanted to try this Because i saw all these Positive comments!!!! Im so glad i did. I just finished baking a batch and they ARE Great!!! ❤thanks for this recipe! To anyone else reading this, don’t hesitate to try it🥹im a chocolate / sweets lover
Truly spectacular cookies!! The best oatmeal chocolate chip recipe EVER!! My search has ended, these are perfect! Easy to make, buttery, chewy, and deliciously beautiful...they looked exactly like the cookies in the video! The bake time is dead on as well. I haven't been disappointed with a single recipe of yours. Many thanks!!
Hi Sam, I noticed that in your video you said to use 1 large egg and 1 large egg yolk and the written recipe in the description below said 2 large eggs. Can you clarify that for me please? Thank You.
Sorry for any confusion. If there’s ever a discrepancy it’s best to go with the written portion. It’s tough to go back and refilm one small part. Sorry!
Thank you so so much. This taste is the best. I made from 2 other people and this one is the best. But i have the ad this. That if you bake after you put 30 mins in fridge is nice and big and flat. Like regular cookies. But if you leave it in the fridge till the next day to bake. The cookies look like muffin in the bak sheets. Which it still cool looking. You can also go 50/50 on brown sugar and splenda. Cuz the first one without splenda is to sweet for me. But yeah will make it again with splenda😊
I wondered if I could brown butter...then let it set up again to make a shortbread cookie...which I have never done....seriously the first time I ever made chocolate chip cookies was your recipe....I got into making pralines for a minute...then tried fudge which was not a success to put it mildly....I'm glad this recipe calls for some maple syrup....remember I told you about the container I bought so I have plenty of it....
Made these today and they came out absolutely DELICIOUS! Kinda messed up and accidentally added baking powder (1 1/2 teaspoons) but they came out really good regardless. Definitely my go to!
Safe to say your recipes are the best made yout m and m cookies then banana bread now these amazing started a baking businesses at skl and everyone loves them
just made this recipe, it was a success following the worst cookies last time, so i tried this one, another great one, love the cinnamon touch !! thank you Sam, happy holidays
They should keep for up to a week at room temperature. If you mash bananas in you will be adding a lot more moisture to the recipe so I’m not sure how they would turn out.
I was watching a baking program with Martha Stewart and another chef I like they were discussing baking recipes how we think that by using a European butter....I have done this myself thinking if I use the more expensive butters my recipe will be better besides the fact that I am always in a search for the butter with the most intense buttery flavor they both agreed that recipes created in America you will actually have better luck not using a European butter....do you have an opinion regarding this?
Most of my recipes would probably be improved (in my opinion) by using European butter. The higher fat content really adds a more buttery flavor. That being said, I do develop my recipes with American butter being used so you don’t have to go out and get new ingredients.
Looks great What are yoir thoughts on adding 1/3 cup of pumpkin or sweet potato puree to the wet mixture? Should i add a little bit more flour or use 2 egg yolks instead of the white in the egg and squeeze excess water from the puree? Id love your thoughts as id like toake rhese today.
again with the fractions? You have me hooked on your browned butter chocolate chip cookies I have made them weekly for a month now ...I think they are the best chocolate chip cookie that I've ever had and I know for a fact it's the best that I have ever made...I like the way you make your recipes easy to make ...you know you don't need six bowls the food processor blender tempering and all the other drivel that's supposed to be impressive because the recipe is miserable to make.... now seeing these cookies after you baked them...I have got to give them a try....I so wish that I had seen it before I went to the grocery today...I'd start this recipe fractions and all right now if I had those darn oats! I do what to know what you think about the regular milk with vinegar to create buttermilk...since I'll be going back for oats I'll pick up the buttermilk as well...can't wait to taste one of these cookies...
I think you are going to love these cookies! Honestly I like to try to make the recipes as simple and reproducible as possible. I really enjoy when my viewers have success and enjoy their treats without having to go through a huge hassle. 😊
These oatmeal cookies are fantastic. I added some honey to mine. Not sure how much. I just tipped the fat bear on its head and squeezed his fat belly till it poured out. But I will tell you these were the best cookies I ever ate. The best!
Sugar Spun Run I made them last night and they turned out fantastic, the only change I made was I used steel cut oats cause that’s what I had in the pantry.
Made these today and they are incredible😍! Side note: my plastic spatula snapped while I was mixing the dough and as a result I punched myself in the lip. Lesson learned. So I recommend just using your hand to mush up the oats and chocolate chips into the mixture when it gets too thick for the mixer or spatula 🤣🤦♀️ I also scooped these onto my baking sheets and stuck them in the freezer for 15 minutes while the oven preheated to speed up the process and not wait 30 minutes for the dough to chill in the fridge. I scooped out all the cookies onto several baking sheets in the meantime and alternated them. Having several baking sheets comes in really handy. The cookies are delicious and have been added to my list of favorites. Thank you for much for the recipe!
