The level of detail you provided is perfect. I definitely learned some new things on canning. Looks delicious, I am absolutely going to try this recipe.
A few years ago. My husband bought me a tons of oranges. I had never canned ir made jellies before . So I took to the internet to get some recipes. I found an orange marmalade recipe . Though there were a few mistakes like my orange rind was too big. I have found a orange chicken recipe that everyone loves that I use the marmalade in. So one fail and one win. That's a good day in the kitchen. It's now giving me the courage to tackle pressure canning. Thanks for the recipe. I will add it to my file and next time I will try thus one.
I am wanting this for orange chicken as well, so I'm glad to hear it can work well for that. I have a whole binder of recipes thanks to this collaboration!
This Canuary just keeps getting better, I have now found new ppl to follow and I am learning so much. Thank you Alana and Forjars for sponsering this awesome group of canners.
Thanks for sharing the recipe! I like that it only makes a fee jars so we can try it out and I'd we like it, we can always make more! Seems a great way to preserve orange/lemony goodness! So neat to find new channels and great ideas! This is my first Canuary. Thanks all!
I make one similar. For years we've called it Amber Marmalade because that's what it was called in the old Farm Journal Cookbook it came from. Grapefruit replaces the Clementines. No store bought pectin. It has a deep rich flavor, but it sure takes a long time to make. I like that you showed the wrinkle test.
Your marmalade is beautiful! Thank you for showing the freezer method. It was helpful to have a video explanation showing what to look for. I have never tried marmalade except in an orange chicken recipe, so it may be time to broaden my horizons. Thank you for participating in Canuary 2023!
Thank you so much! I am a visual person, so I like to do lots of close ups as that is how seem to learn the best. I hope you enjoy the marmalade as much as we do if you end up trying the recipe. Take care and have a wonderful evening!
Found you thru Canuary. I have found some great channels such as yours. Thank you for that! I remember when I was little (I am 50 now), I remember my mom loved Orange Marmalade and it was a special treat to have it in the house!
Glad to have found yet another new channel for canning videos! I've never eaten nor made orange marmalade. This recipe is small batch so makes it easier for first time users! Thank you and Happy Canning!
I so happy to meet you and to add your recipe to list of must do can. Thank you Alana and I'm now subscribe to you. Thank you Lesia and Forjars for this great opportunity.
I love this. I had a Calamondon orange tree as my first Christmas tree when I moved to Florida in 1979. My grandmother made marmalade from the huge harvest of about 10 pounds from that 3 foot tree. She got about 4 pounds of seeds she removed, though. I will try this soon. Thanks for that and excellent directions . Kris in Orlando
My husband loves orange marmalade. I have never made it! His birthday is coming up and it’s orange season… he will be getting marmalade for his birthday!
Loved your marmalade and through directions. It turned out lovely. I love watching Canuary and seeing all the wonderful canning ideas for shelf stable canning. I've been canning marmalade all week with the cuties mandarins that come out this time of year in CA. I cheat and use a very easy pressure cooker small batch recipe for my marmalade that comes out perfect. I make many jars of it every year so we have enough to get us through till next season. My husband and I love marmalade and eat about a jar a week!
My mother and grandmother use to make orange marmalade, it was delicious - will be giving this a try. Thank you for sharing this with is and Thank You Forjars for sponsoring this years canuary.
This is my second year of watching Canuary and have learned so much and enjoy the new YT channels. I look forward to trying many of these recipes? I have never done orange marmalade before. Thanks for sharing this!
I love orange marmalade on pound cake, YUM! I didn't know how to make it and you explained it in great detail. So glad I found your channel on Canaury event! Thank you for participating and sharing!
I was never a marmalade fan as a child but I have matured my pallet over all the years. I have found the marmalade to be a beautiful addition to salmon and orange chicken. Love your citric blend suggestion to broaden the flavors. Thanks for sharing! (Still tip-toeing around the pressure cooker but liven the water bath videos!)
Never thought to use a grater in making marmalade. Game changer! It's a lovely perk when I find additional youtubers to subscribe to through these collabs and challenges. Glad I found you :)
I also hated orange marmalade as a kid, but I like it as an adult. I usually use it as a glaze on chicken or pork and I look forward to making my won to use. Thanks for sharing!
Love love love this. I am fluent in hot water bath canning so I will jump right on this it's the pressure canning I'm not so fluent in. Watching you all is getting me prepared to begin this summer when my garden goes crazy!!
I also did not like orange marmalade as a child, but now it is my favorite jam! We didn’t like it as kids because back then it was made with bitter oranges like the Seville, and the peel was likely not cooked. Today we make orange marmalade instead! This recipe looks like it could be made in the Ball FreshTech jam and jelly maker, and I think I may give that a try. I use that device because I am legally blind and it is far safer for me. To see anything at all, I have to get m face within about 6-8 inches of something, which isn’t a good idea with boiling sugar! I have made several batches of jam in it and like it very much! Thank you for your small batch recipe, which is the perfect size for me and for the FreshTech!
Using a grater for the peel. What a great idea! That’s one I will definitely use in the future especially when I make my lemoncelo. Thank you for sharing. I’m loving the Canuary videos and all of the fantastic tips and recipes.
That marmalade looks amazing!! I love orange marmalade, but have never made it - certainly want to try it now after watching your video. This is my first time watching the Canuary videos, and also hearing about For Jars lids - all the videos are filled with great information and great to see so many canning enthusiasts on You Tube!
I love marmalade & had no idea what all went into making it! Holy cow, it’s labor intensive. But, it also made me almost drool just looking at it. I think I’m gonna give it a try!!
